BigNasty I for one am glad you did 1038 at Atco. I could care at all it was done with RR. You came prepared and that's all that matters.Bone Stock with tires !!!!!! I have several records at that track in the 80's with my Bikes (Low 8's over 160mph) If you Guys went to local ***** house would your pockets be emty.He came and went.He got it done !The guys will just have to suck it up until someone goes faster!!! Great Run !
MIKE
It ran 10.38 at 131 on skinnies .Fartpipe ran 10.26 at over 134mph no skinnies. Where is the z06 faster?Top speed also has the Zr1 as the winner. The c7 z06 has a nicer interior i ll give it that. Both great cars but the zr1 is still the performance king so far when it comes to fastest stock vette ever.
You want to be correct? The ZR1 with just an A4 auto ran under 10 seconds. Then the 10.38 since it had skinnys is not drag radial/only
Need to do both the same for both cars to be fair so we will see with drag radials only soon enough. Such a comment is not needed from Corvette less people.
Zr1 is still the faster car so far. I'm going to like having both of GM's top machines!

JUST a 4l60E that car had ported heads, blower, pullied, cammed and headers

That particular ZR1 had internal engine work done. Get your facts straight please.
ohh I see what ya did there ''MANual" funny guy.... Please take any m7 zo6 and line it up to a a8 zo6 from a DIG and then we will see who the man is...
I thought you'd like that. No doubt the time you ran is fast and you obviously learned the car quickly, or is it just that easy to mash the gas with an A8 and point and after a few runs be topped out? When you said there is "NO" comparison I was surprised you said that, to diminish one of the if not the fastest Corvette ever built is silly. And in truth to compare an auto to a manual in the 1/4 is also silly. The real comparison should be an M7 vs. a ZR1 IMO.

well obviously this thread is about an A8 ZO6 not the M7 so go highjack yet another thread.

You brought up running an M7 from a dig not me. Your credibility is waning fast, even faster than your 10:38...lol. Seriously though, you cut up the ZR like it's a piece of chit and you want no one to question you?
If you weren't bent on going fast why the skinnies and DR's? Why not a tune or a convertor, maybe the first to break 10 seeing how your car is apparently a factory freak faster than the rest.
I'm not done yet... The Zr1 has been out for how long now? Oh yes thats right since 09... The Auto Zo6...WEEKS! I had both ZR1 and ZO6 and there is NO comparison...
Stock tire for stock tire the ZR1 vs The A8 ZO6, The ZR1 does not stand a chance I'm sorry. You can put your pom-poms away now
I ll tell you what .Stick your stock wheels front and back on your car and pull a roll race from 50 mph to 150 mph and if the zr1 isnt pulling a few car lengths on you i ll swallow my words.Driving a stick is a challenge compared to your automatic i ll agree on that point but the zr1 is clearly the faster car.It will trap higher and kill your z06 at the top end.Quarter mile on stock rubber with an average driver i ll give the z06 with 8 speed auto the edge but thats not telling the whole story. You ve owned both so clearly you know i m telling it like it is.

This thread is about 1/4 mile in a Auto Z06. It's not about roll racing @ highway. Please stop with your insecurities..
If you think DA doesn't matter why is every single hero run made at MIR? , those are great times(I could care less about the slicks and skinnys)
People don't realize how hard it is to get into the 10's to the OP.
Turns out that the new Z is better on a 1/4 track than a course, but that is fine with me.
I was being facetious about the DA...of course it matters. And I've heard that certain guys who "chase the number" will look at the weather maps to see what the expected BP/humidity/temps are going to be at tracks like Atco or MIR and if it looks like the stars are aligned (meaning they will get mine-shaft conditions) they are out there trying to either organize a rental at the last minute or jump in on one that may be already set up.
And hats off to the OP for taking a brand new car to the track and trying to see what it will run.
