Default Side skirt install w/o screws?

I want to install my CF ZR1 side skirts without putting 8-10 holes in the side of my new car.

I did a search and came up with nothing. Has anyone succeeded in installing zr1 side skirts on a car without having the drill all the holes in the side of the car?

I'm wondering if I can screw the first 2 front screws ( the ones underneath the car) and the last two (into the bottom of the rear front mudguard) and use some sore of adhesive or silicone for the middle part, where I would normally have to drill the holes.

Has anyone tried this?

You probably came up with nothing on your search because it's ill advised. Just drill the holes. It's pretty simple. Install the back flap first. Then screw the skirt onto the flap. That will give you correct placement. Put something under the front of the skirt for support. Then just hold the skirt up in place and use the pre-drilled/marked spots on the skirt to drill the hole using a 1/8" bit. Drill and screw one at a time till you get to the front making sure you hold the skirt tight against the car each time. It took me about 30 minutes to do the first one and half that for the second.

I have installed these on my base c6 2006 without drilling holes in the car. I used Automobile double sided tape from Advance auto for the length of the car then bolted the skirt to the rear wheel front mud flap and 1 bolt on the front wheel mud flap. I cleaned both the skirt and area for the tape with rubbing Alcohol. Worked very hard to clean it so the tape would stick. I also did the same for the rear spoiler vrs drilling holes. It's been a year now and it hasn't loosen at all. I have be up to 80 MPH or so, no issues.

Mine are riveted on. I wouldn't be comfortable at all with just double sided tape holding them especially at high speeds.

I used screws and did every other hole so about 8-10" apart. I wouldn't trust no screws or rivets but good luck. It really isn't that bad, I had 2nd thoughts as well but once u drill the first hole it's easy! Just do it!

Funny you responded. I just bought a centennial and I was initially dead set against installing the side skirts....then I saw how good your car looked. This is all your fault.

I've installed and removed 2 sets of these. I'm most likely going to use the two front screws and the rest two that go into the mud guard. I'll double side tape the middle portion and see what happens.

If interested in staying like the original, GM offers an installation kit 25938054 with correct factory rivets, butyl patch, and instructions-the old number changes to 22799898. Priced about $50 online.

I used plastic/nylon rivets, don't have to worry about them rusting out. And they hold just as strong as screws or metal rivets.
