Default -WXM- Akrapovic Evo Exhaust = 22whp gain on a STOCK C7 Z06!

You guys have asked me what the Akrapovic is good for? Tony brought his brand new Race Yellow Z06 vert up to us to do some warranty friendly mods. The car baselined just shy of 600whp and I'll share more on the rest in a separate thread for him, but a back to back dyno of just the Akrapovic Evolution exhaust netted a 22.5 WHEEL HP gain!

This was without any tuning changes. Up next is the Halltech intake addition, along with our WXM heat exchanger and B3R 2 gallon tank!

*Wideband wasn't hooked up on this one so AFR isn't accurate*

Ben, how do headers bolt up to the full Akra system? You have to go with mid lengths?

I got mine with American Racing headers and the shop had to make some adjustments. No big deal though. I love the look and the sound.. I got them Ben and have no complaints..

I have headers on mine and just connected the AR X-pipe to the Akra axle back. I cannot tell you the heads it turns with that sound. The high RPM scream sound like an F1 car.

Is there any difference in the connection point of the axle back vs the Evo system (ie. is the axle back smaller in some way)?

Axle backs are both the same

Tq and HP are functions of each other, thus the reason they always cross at 5250rpm. Gain more HP in the upper RPM band and the torque will fall off more on the graph.

Torque and horsepower relations:
T = HP * 5252 / RPM
HP = T * RPM / 5252
RPM = HP * 5252 / T

* Torque values are in foot pounds.

No, the axle back requires cutting the stock x pipe and slipping on their adapters which do not come with the Evo system

Questioning our testing methods is like questioning my integrity bro. Temps were kept consistent at the start of the pulls. Don't come in here with your banter trying to push Corsa x pipes LOL. You have your Calaway threads for that

Sorry Ben but I just don't find spending over 5 grand for a 3.3% gain very cost effective.

I see. What I really wanted to ask was for a dyno sheet with all the stock catalytic converters on. How much of the gain is due to removing the cats?

Well the good news is you don't have to

Many people like the weight reduction, HP increase, sound and look of the Akra exhaust. I dreamed of putting them on my C6Z but never got a chance. I heard them on a friends and they sounded awesome

To me it's the best mod for the C7, literally trade off free improvement in performance in every possible way. If I had a garage queen I'd get the exhaust tomorrow! No way i'm risking it on the track though.

They would have to be tested on the same equipment under the same exact conditions.. Have not seen that done.... Marketing and the Dyno on the car are tough to do. If it is not done on a test stand it is not an accurate comparison....
