Default My Carlisle Display Board

I wanted to make a display for the 66 and try to tell the story of the car, but it's hard to do with a just a board. So I went to Walmart and bought a fold out board that is 4 x 4. Then I used Photobucket to make posters of pictures I have to fit. I would like some feedback if you don't mind?

I think I'm gonna put the original tag back on for display and put the USA-1 tag on the front. Your thoughts?

if your not going to be beside your car all day that will just be knocked over and on the ground. better find a way to keep it vertical with a easel or something. but looks good

I've got wooden stakes that will attach to the back and drive them into the ground.

Jason,
That's such a cool and unique story. Glad you took the time and effort to share with all here and, for those that see your car at Carlisle. You're going to be a good caretaker of this survivor. Congratulations

Do NOT put any original paperwork on there. Make color copies and use those instead. You never know when things might mysteriously disappear..... Better to "lose" copies than originals!

Nice work and it shows you put a lot of effort into making the display board.
I look forward to seeing and reading it in person.

Bring a big hammer. The ground is hard. Dennis

Check with the 50th Display coordinator Joe Clemente. He may put you where there is a tent post to which you might loop some long zip ties and keep the sign up. Every car has its story, and having 50 years of history there's much to tell. Your signboard is a nice, personal touch.

Although we didn't spend that much time with our car while it was in the 50th display last year, it was still very special to participate. Jim and his wife Mary were troopers and stayed with their car through much of the show. Nice thing is you're able to choose so you can still do what you want through the weekend. I was relieved we were able to move it out at the end of the day, as it was our only transportation back to our cabin and around town.

You can see Jim's sign (right side) next to mine.

Sorry but I always thought those big boards with pictures of the car, that was sitting right there, were very cheesy. Maybe something VERY small on the windshield with limited info. would be fine to start a conversation with those that were more interested.

Looks Nice...But as Mentioned ..the wind will play havoc with that display. I have the same size I used for the HUMMER H2 at our GM Spring Fling Car Show. Used Bungee cords and attached them to the Brush Guard on the front end.

Also.. As stated ...I would make copies of your original Paperwork... Yah never know

I agree. It's unfortunate, but things do get stolen at Carlisle.

The staples are distracting. Lose them and use a glue stick.

I understand what you are saying... but the pictures of the car are in its "as found" condition... And show the original owner with the car, then & now. More special interest stuff than "look at my awesome restoration" boards.

The point is that its a very unmolested Survivor...

To those expressing concern about the docs I think it looks like the OP is only using pictures of the documents.
Great car, people seeing it at Carlisle are gonna love it.

Yes those are pictures of the documentation not the originals. I understand the concerns if the wind picks up, but I can take the board down and slide it under the car if we are not there. Thanks for the feedback.

It can, and does, get windy there. As you say, you'll need to remove them from the ground and place under the car when you're not there. It would be a shame to have them blow into your car, or someone else's, which, unfortunately, I've seen more than once. Nice story though, and its an interesting background story that I'm sure many folks will appreciate.
