The museum has some smart people about such things. Does the car have all the changes that the rest of the 2008s had such as air intake and exhaust? I would think the line was set up for 07s in April so this is an interesting thing.
The window sticker and build sheet can be bought from the museum.

I have them both. Build date 4-24-2007. Window sticker says Total price $62,880. Options were $8,545.
The dealer that ordered it and where it was shipped should be on there.
I know all of that! This car was built as a pilot model and shipped to GM at Warren Michigan. This was not a Dealer ordered car. It has a code on the build sheet WD1 Pilot vehicle. It also has the code WD0 I. D. Platform containment. Another code is SLM Stock orders.
I have the build sheet, the Window Sticker, Carfax, and the GM Vehicle report.
The car was shipped directly to GM and they kept it for 6 months then sent it to auction.
Just by knowing who has a lower serial number car or where it was shipped to will not tell you how it was used. You need the GM records for that and that's not something they typically release. In the case of a car that had been in production for several years and is now out of production by several more, it's likely those records have long since been destroyed.
If you have an "in" to Corvette Marketing (who knows where people from '07 would be today), they might be able to assist.
Having said that, some build sheets will offer tips. My '96 was used for QA....
It also helps that there are some prominent GM employees on the Grand Sport Registry that were part of the Corvette team and that were willing to help us out with the '96 GS.

I have no in! I know some folks that worked at GM years ago but most are now dead or in assisted living. My curiosity just stems from the fact that this was a Pilot vehicle and ownership seems to have gone in to a dark hole after 6 months. Carfax only shows 3 owners but only accounts for 1 year 6 months and 9 days of ownership. I thought that maybe someone on the Forum may have a similar car.
So what I gleaned from your previous post, is that it took 5 days from the build to deliver and register. The private owner In Service date was 11/17/07 and he locked himself out twice. The next owner (Tornabene) had a couple minor problems repaired under his B2B purchased warranty. Then the car sat for a long time before you bought it.
Although gathering that info is cool, what else of importance did I miss?
Just curious. I have owned 14 Vette's and none were near as low a serial number as this one. In past years, I have ordered new Vette's and had to wait months for them to come in. This was especially the case when I ordered one in 68 and 73.

If you got this information from CarFax, I did also. The car did not sit, it has 53,000 miles on it. Who Tornabene is I do not know but He is not listed as a owner on CarFax? The last guy to have the car was from Pennsylvania and He had it a year and put about 650 miles on it. He sold it because "it was collecting dust", His words. He had it listed on ebay twice and did not sell it. I bought it from a independent Dealer.
As I told the previous post, I am just curious about the car!

So I was curious too. No CarFax for me, but just looking at what you posted and posting my observations.
Maybe because I average over 1300 miles per month on my Vette, I tend to think 5829 miles in 23 months, or 253/mo, are GQ numbers. However, only 61 miles in the past 13 months really means the car sat dead still for looooonng periods. I'm assuming it was driven to the dealer where you bought it and then you drove it home, so there was plenty of time for "collecting dust" between the 7/16/2015 date of last service and now. The only other possibilities that come to mind, are that the previous owner had it for well over a year, didn't put 650 miles on it, or your statement of 53,000 miles currently showing is incorrect.
I put Tornabene in parentheses, since I assumed he was the person who bought the B2B warranty in 2010 and whose name was in the "owner" field.

The last owner had the car for around a year and indeed put only around 650 miles on it. That is why He sold it it was collecting dust and His.wife had other idea's. As for Tomabene, He does show up on the VIS but He does not show up as a owner on Carfax. According to Carfax the car was ordered for GM and they put close to 12,000 miles on it before sending it to the Auction in Michigan. From that point on Carfax only shows Dealer ownership until the last guy in Pennsylvania.
I put this on the Forum because I hit a dead end and as I stated in previous posts it is just curiosity to see if I have the oldest 08 Convertible?
Just a finishing post! As stated previously, I have hit a dead end on research. The car seems to have every option available at the time, including a power top. It runs and drives great and now that I replaced the NPP solenoid, the MTW works as well. It looks like the only thing GM did to it other than drive it for 11,000 miles is to have replaced the clutch and both half shafts.
A friend of a friend works for Roush. She was test driving the new C7s before they were released. She drove the car all over the country to put real-world miles on it and to report on performance. I wonder if your Vette was a similar vehicle? If so, I wonder if Roush (or whoever was contracted at the time) could help you?

It was in GM ownership and they put 14,908 miles on it before they placed it with the Auction in Michigan. While GM had it they replaced the clutch and both half shafts. It was auctioned off and then there were no owners other than Dealers reported until 6-30-2015. Who exactly had it from 11-2007 to 6-30-2015 is a mystery! As you can see, it was a very early car and was a PILOT vehicle for GM. They loaded it up with options and I think that it had all that were available at the time it was built. There is a note on Carfax that the first transaction was that the car was sold and that the Dealer took title!
I have a copy of the BUILD SHEET, it shows that the car was built on 4-24-2007. There are also 3 "SPECIAL COVERAGE" notations on the vehicle report. They are all noted SPECIAL COVERAGE 14717, N150643, and 15682 they all have a effective date of 4-29-2007 and a end date of 4-29-2017 120,000 miles with a warranty status of applicable? What this exactly means, I do not know. I will start another post on this subject.
