Another new C6 owner-2005
So I come here and start reading. The usual education since I really didn't know C6's very well at all. Back in the 90's I owned two C4's, a two-tone silver auto 87 and a 95 black on black LT1 6 spd coupe. I skipped the C5's altogether while I was bracket racing for 12 years. Sold the race car, trailer and equipment and had cash in hand. Took me about 1 month to find the one I drove home 100 miles last Thursday. It's everything I wanted and a little more too.
Didn't hesitate one bit on buying the first year 2005. Sure, would have liked newer but this car is fine for me.
1SB pkg. loaded with both tops, F55, new tires, new Hawk brakes, car cover, Pioneer in dash head unit with back-up camera, recent service from Chev dealer, clean CarFax and AutoCheck, LS2 6 speed Coupe with only 74000 miles and totally stock, no mods. It looks and drives like a new car.
What really impressed me was how quiet and smooth it drives compared to my 95 coupe. Plenty of power and averaged about 24.5 mpg on the drive home. Everything on it works as it should. Really impressed with it for an 11 year old Corvette. Like a new car for me.
Just needs a little detailing and cleanup. Had Onstar originally so the hickey on top doesn't bother me any. The left side seat bolster isn't even worn yet.
I'm still getting to know it and for anyone saying don't buy a first year 2005... thats bullshirt, go for it, just wait for a well taken care of example. LS2- plenty for the street, my racing days are over, mods?,, to each his own, but I like em un-modded and well taken care of, first year problems? this one hasn't had any of those and if they occur I'll deal with them then.
So that's my story and I really enjoy seeing all the members cars here. You people have some very nice Corvettes.
Thanks, Jack
Only mods I can see me doing are full length rear spoiler and possibly brake caliper paint.

: Congratulations on the new ride, great looking car... I bought a 2005 back in December and really like it , I've already put 8,000 miles on it.. The 2005s are just as reliable as any of the later cars, most that say differently are people that have never owned one...I thought of that B pillar Halo paint. lol... tempting. So much you can do with these cars without going crazy. Under body is nice and clean with no scrapes or hits.

I wish it was a bit smaller in diameter but I like it.
