Really? Doesn't it turn off after 20 minutes or so?
I have one on my 09, never timed it but it does take a while to shut off. It's also freaking hot don't ever touch it lol thinking of replacing with LED.
Whan I got our new Vette home, I checked under the hood to make sure that everything was ok.
I noticed that the hood light was not working and called my salesman.
This morning he phoned me and read a bulletin from GM stating that they disconnect the cable for the light so that it would not run down the battery.
Anyone else notice this?
They stopped shipping 06's with the underhood light connected as it may have been contributing to dead batteries when cars showed up at the dealers. It should have a piece of bright yellow tape on it as a reminder to your local dealer to make the connection during the PDI:
Yes and that's why the later one's came from the factory disconnected. If you park it on a slope and the light turned on then it would cycle off, but on the truck it would stay on due to the movement.

I've been wondering if anybody has put L.E.D. stick on strips under the hood with a simple switch. Seems to me this would work better than the stock light.
