This is why I don't do this. Happens to my friend every time in his $20k Lexus and I lol every time.
I park with everyone. I believe there are more chances of someone hitting you if you're parked alone as i've witnessed people wizzing by his car being parked by himself as I waited in a Walmart parking lot because I didn't want to walk that far. Other people parked close to him in this instance and couple people cut through the parking lot in between his and the others that parked near him. One guy even did a u-turn around his in a beater and I was lol, but wtf? Can't wait to tell him what happened. He don't care though. Still does it. Someone already dinged his car at work where he parks alone too. I don't understand why you wouldn't change your ways.
There are many threads on this phenomenon. The first week after I purchased my car...went to dinner at a favorite restaurant and this van parked so close, I needed a can opener to get into my drivers side door. I also noticed cars tailgating me more often than my C6.
So, your reaction would have been "stronger?" Because he parked too close to you? What would you have done? Gotten into a shouting match? How about a physical altercation? Would you have pulled a gun on him? What would be your limit??
Much easier to just roll your eyes, take a deep breath and move on...and go enjoy your car!
Have a wonderful day.
I interpret such a thing as an attack against my personal property...IOW, MY MONEY.
A wise man told me something when I was a kid: "Never threaten a man's life, his money, or his wife."
I've always subscribed to those words.
I happens from time to time with me. But as my friend AdventurePoser and that wise old sage Taylor Swift says, I just shake it off. If they don't ding the car I'll be gone before they get back.
BTW, today I was lucky. Had my old Camaro out, and stopped at two places. She was still all by herself when I returned. So, miracles do happen.

How in the world is parking beside your car a threat or attack?! So if some little old lady parks her Prius beside your Vette you're going kick her ***?!

So much wisdom in some of today's youth!

When i realized he was walking behind me to his truck i gave him a mouthful about how people park in the back to get away from other cars to protect their property. Long story short the guy thought he was being funny but to be honest like why bother people who park far away they are not taking all the good parkig spots up front so leave them alone....if you want to admire the car and park close to it keep your distance a spot veing inbetween...
IDK my two cents
Was the 'crappy old Toyota' parked between the lines?
I went to Walmart a few years ago and I found that there is a regular negative element in the store and in the parking lot. I don't mean to sound snobby, but I refuse to go there. On one occasion it was raining and I dropped off my wife at the door, parked in the back all by myself and on the walk in I was clipped from behind by a jerk who was running to get out of the rain (I had an umbrella). The hit was clearly intentional. He then got into a verbal exchange with me that was totally inappropriate. When I got inside my wife told me that a woman rammed her with a shopping cart in her Achilles tendon. Both of the offending parties fall into the "inequality" 99% basket, but forget the racism/bigotry charge, I just don't want to interact with people this way. I am referencing the Walmart in Norwalk CT, so it may be different elsewhere. BTW, I would never park my GS in a Walmart/Home Depot/Supermarket parking lot. I have an SUV for errands and own the Vette for strictly driving/cruising. Don't expect anyone to care about your ride and accept the fact that stuff happens if you leave yourself exposed. I did hear a good piece of advice that has served me very well over the years: Treat people on the road (and in parking lots) as if they were a guest in your home. You wouldn't mess with them in your living room and you shouldn't mess with them on the road. If only everyone had this attitude we would be better off.
if you cant even get in one side of your car because of how close they park who is really the ******* here?.......
as long as they keep a respectable distance its not an issue but dont park 3 inches from my car
Happens all the time. just last week I parked on the end, nearly in the grass with enough room to swing my door completely open if someone parked right in the next spot over. What do I come out to? A big Ford with his front tires over the line and I had to hold the edge of my door to keep it from hitting her car while I was (barely) getting in. I looked and looked but I didn't see anything from their vehicle hitting mine.

But as much as I agree with that it just grinds my gears that some people can't (won't) respect other people's property.
Five minutes in the store and you come out to this:
Yeah, suuurrrre....
Figured that would be the response, but hoped for something a little snarkier.
BTW, that's some pretty rough asphalt in the pic. Was the lot being milled in preparation for resurfacing?
I drive my C7 to work frequently, and twice this summer a couple of ******** parked so close to me that I had to crack the passenger side door, take the roof off and push the car backwards out of the spot so that I could get into the driver's side.
I know when I park in the north 40 and there is NO ONE near me for 100 yards and I come out of the store and find ONE car next to me....I KNOW that person did it intentionally.....As long as I can get into my car without trouble I'm ok...BUT, if they parked so close as to NOT allow me to get into my car via the drivers door......That DIPSHIT is in real trouble when they come back......

Only if provoked.

Don't know.

You are wound WAY too tight.
It's a friggen Chevy that costs less than some Pickups and SUVs. If you're scared to park it and you think someone parking next to you is an attack on you or your money perhaps you'd be better off with a 10 year old Toyota.
I've driven my '14 pretty much everywhere every day for 2 1/2 years. I park in parking lots and don't seek out the farthest spot and I would NEVER take two spots anywhere. Car doesn't have a scratch on it from someone parking next to it.

Maybe, but I'm also too old to take feces from anyone.

A Z06?
If you're scared to park it
Not "scared," mindful.

Good for you.
I hope you never have to shell out $$$ to repair door dings.

This is a timely post for me. I just got back from a local grocery store. Parked in my favorite spot where there are several open spaces. Never had anyone park next to me there. Get this......Someone parked their Jeep next to me so close to my drivers door I couldn't open it. I had to enter the passenger side and squeeze over to the drivers seat! Try that once and see how you feel. Luckily I am skinny. But at my 68 years the tendons, muscles and bone joints are not stretch friendly. Man, was I ever pissed! I'm getting all worked up again just typing this out! Excuse me while I go cool down. Thanks for listening.
