Vistance, this is what I did to my Z that for me was the best of both worlds: USA Wheels here in Northern NJ did the work. They machined the face, powdercoated the rest black, then clear powdercoated the whole thing. The Speedlines are very special wheels, and I don't know if you can get anything much lighter weight.
Either way, enjoy your yellow beauty, but watch out for bees!!

I'm sorry my pix don't do them justice, but they did look great and were very unique. Btw, the black was glossy. The entire job cost $600 for all 4 wheels.
About 2 months ago, t'was not me who kept the miles that low. Funny though that it was 10 years older than the car it replaced and yet only had a few thousand more miles.
Good looking car! Best of luck with it. May ask what you paid?
Reason I ask is i'm trying to get some idea what my car might worth,
I'm on fringe of selling. Still undecided, inspiration comes and goes.
Its 2001 Torch Red Coupe, 6 Sp, 29,600 miles. I'm senior guy, original owner, car is pristine. Stock with exception to Corsa Exhaust and Magnaflow xPipe. 2 Roof package and all options. Car is immaculate, no rain, no snow...
Harumph. Those will be my next wheels. When you're driving a yellow vette, you've already given up on understatement. I loved the C6 Z06 Spyder wheels and think the Cray Spiders similar and every bit as nice and they fit the C5 better (I think). Brushed aluminum is a great look.
Yeah, I'd never buy a bright yellow car either. The rare times I drive my black Z, I pay no attention to whatever attention is shown me. Just a matter of personal taste. I do like some machined styles, just not the flat face ones. Those TSWs pictured above somewhat ameliorate that by being dished in the centers. Those Cray spiders look nothing like the C6Z spiders, IMO. Maybe I'm thinking '08 on those? My iForge Aeros are chrome, and I wish they were black, just not enough to do anything about it.
I have HRE wheels on my car that cost the original owner a small fortune, but I'd prefer something like your wheels. I've also seen a company that takes stock C5 wheels and does a black chrome coating that looks neat.
I like the looks of the replica C6 and C7 wheels available for a C5, but at the low prices some go for, I question the quality. I think good quality wheels are going to cost at least a few thousand a set, not $600.
I thought so too, but eh what the hell - it's a sporty car, might as well live it up. No idea how different it might be in a black C5, but I've already had as many compliments on the MY C5Z in a couple months as almost the entire year I had my silver Mustang (And it was a sharp car, a pic of it below).
Some cars do look much better being more elegant (what I think of black), but then again lots of people love chrome all over C5's and that stuff just doesn't mesh to me at all. If I hadn't got MY I would've got a TR C5Z. Someday once my silver Maxima is worn out I'll pick up a black Lexus, probably an AWD LS460. I feel so weird being someone who loves a C5Z and LS460, possibly the most opposite kinds of cars...also I'm apparently way younger than the typical age group that buys Lexus LS series cars as well. Bah though, everyone else is just missing out
When I was looking for a C5 over the summer, it was either Millenium Yellow or Millenium Yellow for me. You are either obsessed with it or loathe it. Personally, I think the C5s look striking in yellow...but again, personal taste. I once saw a C5 which was orange (a gorgeous, bright orange) with some black trim scattered throughout. It looked amazing. Obviously not stock since C5s were never produced in orange. I was having tremendous trouble finding a Millenium Yellow with low miles in great shape at a fair price. My backup plan was to get any other color C5 and have it painted bright orange and black. I'll still never forget that particular C5. Then I was informed changing the paint color on a car can dramatically reduce value depending on different factors. I still think GM should have made bright orange a factory color.

I don't mind yellow, but the only way I would end up with one would be if it was the best CAR available by a long shot. My Z was black, and tho I miss it, I don't miss black. Even with my wheel improvements I never got the complements I get on this Pewter one.
That being said, I think GM missed the boat not offering orange for the c5. I've seen quite a few now and they look great!
I remember back in the 60's they use to sell chrome revered rims... I haven't seen any after market rims in years.. I have seen stock rims and spare rims being offered but have yet to see any custom " rims... All I see are wheels.
