What improvements over the C7 Z06 would you like to see in the new ZR1?
Here is my dream list:
More than 750hp
New Eaton 2650 Super Charger
E85 flex fuel capability
Improved intercooler cooling
Improved engine/oil cooling
A more aggressive nose with improved cooling openings
Larger Splitter
A more aggressive looking hood with better heat extracting
Improved rear spoiler/wing with increased down force and reduced drag
Wider rear rim and tire, Viper is 13" wide
Update MRC for improved traction
Painted on instead of a cheap sticker for the Hood Stinger Stripe, Carbon Flash
The car is pretty fast. Obviously more cooling but the big upgrade is a proper transmission. Enough with the 20th century manual (sorry chrome wheel crowd) but a proper "fast" shifting auto that doesn't overheat. This would speed the car up a ton. Look at how fast that new AMG GTR shifts on its 7:10 Nurburgring run, that's where it makes up a lot of time.
5.5 TT. dsg trans. adjustable height suspension. it should be 150k and have the tech invested in it it deserves. and the luxury version should be 175k. and worth it.
Bolt in cage, head restraint and 5/6 point harness.
GM cannot offer a bolt in cage as either a factory option or a dealer installed option and sell the car with a VIN. Without a VIN(replaced with a serial number like the COPO Camaro) the car can't be registered and titled for street use.
That option has to be the left for the aftermarket and then classified as "off road" use only.

I don't understand why people are so obsessed about lap times and how the automatic is so much faster than another car at a track. 90% of the time I'm driving I'm not pushing the car to its full potential. I can't really see how people enjoy the auto more when a majority of the time they're just driving around town at normal speeds. The driving experience as a whole is a lot more enjoyable and engaging with a manual...... "Oh my gosh this amg with dual clutch ran 12.3254 seconds faster at the Nurburgring than manual corvette"
Zero cooling issues
Hybrid
No fixed rear wing.
Supercharger whine.
Larger rear tires.
No snap oversteer
More power if and only off able to put it down.
Lighter due to lighter wheels, lighter race seats, more CF, minimal interior like the CS, Scuderia, Speciale.
Manual or dual clutch.
Ring time.
My Z06 won't be upgraded until there are electric motors involved. Something I absolutely don't expect in the C7 platform.
How about all wheel drive to get the power to the ground a bit better.
katie NOOOOOOOOooooooo......... on the AWD otherwise we now have an american v8 GTR that shifts slow (unless u get a manual and BANG gears like a champ)

The manual isn't going anywhere any time soon. There is a massive buyers market for it still, even if it is a split second slower. I believe 40 percent of Z's are sold manual's, the fun factor is much more when you are shifting the car rather then a computer doing it for you. I have a M7 on order, and personally I would have kept my C6 Z or went to a C6ZR1 if no manual was offered on the C7. It's all about the sales.

No. That is a half-cage, not a full containment cage. If they crash test it and get approval it can be used. The problem is with full cages where the drivers head will hit the cage in an accident. No helmet = very, very bad day. Therefore full cage on the street isn't happening (legally).
