Sorry if you have seen this already, but I just installed my new iclear Bluetooth hands free FM transmitter.
It fit so perfectly in with the ashtray I thought it was worth posting the picture. Such a simple $20 accessory. It's worth a look if your thinking about an FM transmitter. The outside edge of the device can be used to control a bunch of features like changing songs, changing stations or volume control
The device also has a micro SD cards slot, so you can down load a,using and play it from the device.
It has an internal microphone for hands free calling. The mic works ok, not great, but better than a ticket or worse an accident.
So essentially what it does is pair with your phone via bluetooth and then with our radios via FM, correct? Or just load some music to the uSD card play off of there directly and not your phone? uSD card not included.

I have to say when I saw it in another post I ordered it, what did I have to lose but few dollars.
I plugged into wife's car, bluetooth to iPod to listen to music, and had to raise the volume on the radio and iPod to max, just to hear the music.
Glad you had better luck!
Did you try installing it in the 12v plug in the center console? Wondering if would work there... hidden away if all I want to do is listen to music and not have Hands-free phone connection.
** Keeping in mind that I'd have to remember to "unplug" when rig is stopped/off so as to not drain the battery.

Both. I have an SD card in it but I also stream pandora and XM through it.plus don't forget it has a microphone for blue tooth calls

I don't use an IPod since it's made solely for earphones. I only use my smart phone.
did you have the volume turned up on your phone? Most phones require that you touch the volume control twice, it's a warning that you're not going to harm your hearing when wearing headphones. Mine works great in my base C6. But it helps when I max the volume on my phone, when I do it's just about equal or perhaps louder than the radio or CD.
I use this one because it fits under my center console lid, still sounds great, the remote still works as well. This way I can keep things closed up. As noted above, our power ports are always on so you're best off to unplug it when not in use.

Sorry it took me so long - Yes it fits in the center console, but obviously the phone mic wont be very good. Additionally, the outer ring can be used to advance songs and change volume etc

Arrived today... tried it out and pretty impressed. Took a bit to find a "good" FM station but eventually found a clean one. Like the remote control. When tested with the center console cig lighter plug, found that the distance from "mic" to me seated was perhaps a tad too far for a "great" audio for phone call... but not too back considering the solution only cost $24!
One "install note": The unit was actually a tad tight in the cig lighter plug and was hard to remove w/o having to really tug on it. The 12v plug in the center console was much easier to insert/remove. Might just be unique to what I'm sure are VERY high-end parts (receptacles); probably cost GM about .25 or so! ;-)
