Would you go without insurance on your Corvette? Even if it wasn't mandatory, you would likely purchase insurance.
So why not have insurance on your removable roof? GM has no "door chime" or "warning system" letting you know that your roof is not securely latched. Flying roofs are real (search this forum) and they are dangerous. Just think what would happen if your roof lifted off of your vehicle and hit the vehicle behind you. Just think if that roof penetrated the windshield.
There are many, probably all "flying roof club" (FRC) members that wished something was around to alert them if the top was not latched. Think it will never happen to you because of how careful and meticulous you are? Ever lose track of your keys, or wallet? You're relying on your memory and repetitive actions to ensure your roof is latched down. But people get distracted, which is the number one reason for membership in the FRC. The number of distractions are limitless: Neighbor starts talking to you, kids start running around your Vette with toys that can harm your paint, your cell phone rings, it starts to rain while putting your top back on so you back into the garage and forget.... Don't put 100% trust into remembering to latch your roof.
Flying Roofs is manual warning system for those vehicles with removable roofs. It does the remembering for you. And unlike insurance, this is a one time purchase. Flying Roofs works similar to the "Pull Before Flight tags, but this is "Replace Before Drive". See www.flyingroofs.com for more information.
Probably a good idea for those that take their roofs on and off a lot. Mine has never been off and never will.

If I could have purchased a C7 with a fixed roof, I certainly would have, and completely avoided any issues with possible squeaks, rattles, leaks, etc. and enjoyed an even more rigid chassis on my Corvette. If I wanted a convertible, I would have bought one.
But I also agree that the reminder flags could be helpful for those who often remove the top. Do the tags automatically drop when you unlatch, or do you have to remember to drop them when you pull the latches?

The tag Velcros to the handle, it does not automatically drop. It is one swift motion as the tag pretty much impedes the use of the handle until you drop it.
I hope you don't mind OP, I took the liberty of making your logo more appropriate.
Good luck with the sales!
If I had more time, I would like to get the look of surprise on a stick figure with its arms up.
While designing the logo, I toiled with the thought of making the roof "fly" off as you demonstrated in the photo. But in the end it took up too much real estate on the tags.
Like other said, if I wanted a convertible I would have bought one. I don't like being distracted by wind, noise, sun glare and the dirt you get with the top off. Also my top has been dead silent since I bought the car and I don't want to possibly affect that. I probably will take it off some time this next summer to lubricate the rubber seals but that's it.

That's the best part of owning a targa top car, the wind and the sun. There's no dirt in the face, that's the reason for a windshield. Although, riding the HD is another story.

OP:
Great idea. I take my roof panel off as much as possible in the summertime...can't imagine not wanting to do so....adds to the Corvette experience IMHO.
I like it!
Nothing like a backseat advertising art department.
Oh wait, there isn't a......
In all honesty, I did take the roof off once, and it is one buffeting behemoth without it on.
That one time took care of both times, the first and last.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
