Default C7 Z06-is this tire wear normal?

Both front tires are worn like that even, car has 8k miles,
Does the z06 comes with alignment like that for track meaning this is normal or theres something wrong here?

I bought a new pair of tires and i dont want them to get eatten like that in another 8k miles, theres still meat from the middle to the outside of it and its all wasted, thanks

Had to replace my front tires on my Stingray at 25K, the rear tires are still like new. The alignment was off and has been corrected. Now we will see how the front tires do vs the back tires. Others have also had the front tires wear out before the rear tires. Must be a factory thing.

No, it's not normal. I have almost 10k on my Z and they are not wearing anything like that. After I purchased my car, I took it to a local shop to get it checked and the alignment was way out of spec. Last year I lowered mine on stock bolts and then had it checked again. Just looked again while typing this and my tread is nice and even all the way across. Granted, I don't track the car but I may have another year or two left in these tires. Get your alignment checked by a good shop (bring in your specs so they see exactly what you want) and your next set should last you much longer.

Z06 cars come with a more aggressive track alignment from the factory, so yes its pretty normal. Those of us that do not track our cars sometimes get the cars aligned to avoid the inner tread wear. I have not done mine yet but I only have 270 miles on it.

True that Z06's have more negative camber than the base C7, but the wear the OP is seeing is an indication of a bad alignment. The alignment specs that GM uses for the Z06 is very broad, and can have a crappy alignment that will wear the tires prematurely yet still be within GM's overly broad alignment specs.

The C7 has no more aggressive alignment than the C6 Z06 from the factory(GM specs).

I run my front camber at -0.9 degrees with 0.08 degrees toe and in the rear I run -0.6 degrees camber with -0.02 degrees toe, on my C6 Z06 and have run it at over 160 MPH on a track(stable as can be), and it drives perfectly thru the corners.

I have 37,000 miles on my C6 Z06 tires(Bridgestone RE050A run flats that Bridgestone developed strictly for the C6 Z06) and they are wearing evenly across the tread and I still have ~3/32" tread left.

IS that the sport cup 2 tire? I can't tell. But if it is, you got lots of mileage out of them . If its the PSS, then i would agree that the agressive alginment of the Z06 is the issue and you would be better off with a street alignment. Since you have even wear on both sides.

As they say... speed costs !

negative camber plus toe out or in = inside tire wear period. Its just a matter of how much is acceptable for the driving you do. A good track alignment is usually not the ideal street alignment and the opposite is also true. If you want an alignment primarily for street use be sure the toe is very close to 0, camber doesn't matter as much but will still effect tire wear if it is excessive.

You just need to get a good alignment shop to align for street with zero toe and minimum camber as suggested above. Tell them what you want settings to be, not just check for "factory specs". If you had tracked the car you would still not have gotten over 8000 miles, but the wear would have been more even across the tire.

Yes, factory is more track friendly and will do this exact wear pattern, realignment is the fix for a few more miles

Can you share the printout?
That will answer a lot of questions.

I'd say that it is not normal with only 8K and a lot of tread left.

Negative camber and toe out. Need 0 or + toe Vs negative toe. The camber alone won't cause that kind of wear that quick but toe out (negative toe numbers) pushes the inside edge of the tire forward and causes the tire to slip sideways on the inside edge. Toe in moves the outside edge forward and moves the wear away from the edge. Toe in also reduces wander when the pavement is rutted or has seams crossing it.

My winter tires are feathered on the inside, Z51 so I'm guessing it's normal.

Not normal. Have the dealer align properly and post the before and after spec sheet from the dealer. I think it will be pretty telling.

I'm hoping 8k is not normal for the Grand Sport or I will have to start saving for new tire now and I only have about 600 miles on the car.
