I remember the first time I saw a C5. I was on my way home from work and as I passed over interstate 81 I saw a 97 Vette go below me. I had heard about the C5 but this was the first time I actually seen one. I was hooked immediately. At the time there was no way I could afford one but I hopped I would some day. I kept up on reading about the C5 and when the FRC came out, I realized the base model wouldn't satisfy my infatuation. The C5 just continued to get better looking with the intro of the FRC.The FRC later transitioned into the ZO6 and I had to have that body profile. So here I am 20 years later and I am anxiously awaiting a call from the transport company to deliver my black, 2001, ZO6 with 33,600mi on it.
Congratulations! I too was hooked on the C5 the moment I saw one. Five years ago, I looked at over 30 Vettes and the first time I came across a Z06, I had to have it. Best choice I ever made.
At the price it costs for these things, nothing's better. Just have a lot of money saved...the mod bug doesn't stop.
First mod will be new rims. After that comes the AA supercharger. The car is pretty much bone stock but the previous owner did stick a short throw MGW shifter in it.

The transporter had problems with his vehicle so I got there about 7 hours late. It was at night so no good pictures but here it is coming off the trailer.
Here's the pics! I started driving the car around a little last night I noticed the oil monitor said it only had a little bit of life left. So I change the oil and used that opportunity to check out the underside. I was told that this car was pretty much stock. The dealer was wrong. Long tube headers, x pipe, aftermarket coils, plug wires, short throw shifter and I think it might have been camed too. Idle sounds a little too bumpy for a stock cam.
