Plenty of black car guys, when my best friend bought a 63 SS Impala Convertible, 300-4 speed black black, I was done. And that was in 1965! Ordered a track pak tri power black 442 and have never looked back. Just love black cars.
I did a somewhat thorough detail on my 2015 coupe yesterday. I washed then clay bar with mother's california gold. I tried to use a scratch and swirl remover, Meguiar's scratch X2.0, but I couldn't get rid of the swirls by hand. I am going to have to buy a buffer and do it right.
I use Scratch X 2.0 myself with a buffer in order to do paint correction. I find it does a great job even with just one pass and it buffs off much easier than most compounds. When I got my C6 the paint was in pretty rough shape but as you can see from the before/after shot, one pass with a UDM random orbital buffer and Scratch X 2.0 pretty much eliminated the imperfections:
Black cars are hard to avoid swirls, good buffer, will take care of it.
With little practice with buffer, you will be expert.
