Do you guys have any bottles that you've stumbled upon that fit in the cup holder? I'm looking for something small enough to fit in one of the holders, just for water on nice days of driving etc, probably a dumb question but figured i'd ask
Anything taller than a pop can will be top heavy and interfere with your shift lever. There is a product called the "Drinking Buddy" that works better than the factory cup holder - available from most of the regular vendors.
Oddly enough I found that a large tea cup from Wendy's fits in our cup holder great. I know it's not prefilled but if you save one with a lid you will find that it fights tight enough to not easily fall over and it is really easy to rest your hand on for that little extra. I have yet to find anything else that fits the cup holder well enough to not fall over just by putting the car in gear.

Not a dumb question considering so many people are obsessed with the idea of always having a bottle of water in their hands. I've never understood the idea of the past 10 years or so, that people need to have a bottle of water with them everywhere they go. Are we all afraid we'll dry up and fall over unless we have water every 15 minutes? As far as the question of the cup holders, I'm pretty sure that the stock cup holders will handle an average plastic bottle of water.

I use one of these rubermaid item holders, the strap has firm yet flexible metal in it, that lets you feed it into a vent and hook on well. Got one in my jeep too with 90lbs of change, flash light....
Only extra thing I did was a couple of square of Velcro on the bottom. I wanted it for MC trips n don't want the cup moving. but a sealed bottle would be fine without.

Just a useful correction: it's called a "Travel Buddy," and there are version specifically for the C4 interiors (see here for examples. Predictably, an internet search for "drinking buddy" returns all manner of results specifically NOT recommended for use while driving!

You can get these in single or double. Mine had a single in it when I bought it and switched to a double. I found a gooseneck for my GPS that had a cupholder mount on it. I put that in the one closest to the dash and the other is open for coffee cups, water bottles etc. It just slips in and out, easy to use.

I had one of those double ones, but my wife complained that it cut into her leg room, so that is why I used it as a pattern and made one with fold-up cup holders as seen in my previous post.
