How to safely lift up a Z51 to remove wheels

I had a Kwiklift for years and the QJ is a nice improvement. Portable, fast setup/teardown, and most importantly, safe. During lunch this week I disabled CAGS and changed the oil. My other car is a W212 Mercedes E550 and the 5000 pound QJ paid for itself replacing the rear Airmatic shocks. Mercedes charges $1,000 a corner.
I need a compressor to move the lug nuts or you guys use simple lug nut wrenches? Also, which jack stands do you guys use and do I need 4 of course?I need a car jack too right and where should I place it and the stands to properly leave it lifted while I remove them?
Please bare with me as I am new but trying to rapidly learn all of this to do it myself. I really don't want to mess up anything in this car. Thank you very much!

Get a good low profile floor jack and sturdy jack stands and you'll be fine.
Here they are:

Thanks for the images!! Much appreciated. The service manual is for the c7, right? I only ask because there's a drawing of s c5 in the first image to the right. Thanks again!

But they do use the same pictographs from the earlier manuals. This is very apparent in many many GM service manuals. If the "general shape" has not changed, then they just carry it forward.
My old 2008 manuals had most interior drawings with the 2005 interior, unless it was about a part specifically updated (and therefore was not the same).

I have never used photobuket, no need the Forum keeps all pics from my prior posts. I just retrieve! If I need a new one, just pull from my computer(s.)
The photo I was referring to is my "Where to Jack and Use Jack Stands on a C7." Wondered why GM now allows.

Thanks CJ
Only dumb question is one not asked!
Yep the dealer and tire store should use them.
DETAILED INFO:
The dealer may in fact have them along with many special tools they buy from GM but many are not widely, if every used! I'll explain:
Most mechanics have their own tools and especially the "newbie" working the oil change bay is NOT going to buy pucks for the few Vettes he has to do an oil change. IF the dealer has them, that means the mechanic must go to the parts department and signing them out and return! They often make commission on getting the job done quickly, in less time than GM allots for particular job. Getting pucks just takes time!
My Experience: Although I do my own oil changes, when I got my C7, GM sent a notice that I should have the dif fluid level checked. Brought it to my local Chevy Dealer. Knew the service writer from warranty work they did on my C6. I told her I had my jack pucks in a clear plastic bag on the passenger seat and to be sure the mechanic used them! She was a great and said, "Don't worry, I'll be sure we use our alignment rack (not one of their 12/14 center post lifts) as we just cracked a Vette rocker panel and I am having to schedule to have it repaired!"
If you don't have side skirts consider the flat semi-permanent jack pads. I need the 1 inch extra height.

PS: For my Grand Sport bought unique Jack Pads from forum vendor "Reverse Logic." They are used as normal "put in place when needed" but when having to bring the Vette into a dealer or tire store they can be bolted temporarily in place. Hopefully other than Discount Tire when I need new rubber I will only use them myself in the normal manner! No "hoping" they will be used when put on the passenger seat in a clear plastic bag as I have done with aluminum pads in the past!

Remove white spacer and temporarily bolt in place.
Can extend the normal 1 inch height by 1/2 inch if needed.

Please note that the jack stand pad shown in most of the photos on their page are not the correct ones for our car. They have a top which has an indention which the jacking pucks fit into w/o issue.
I would love to have the Quickjack but am not sure where I would store it or with my back issues how I would move it into place.

"Use only a service jack with a lifting pad diameter of 64 mm (2.5 in) or smaller, and thick enough to make sure the jack does not contact the vehicle body. Position the service jack and lifting pad under the frame rail shipping slot reinforcement."
On that same page is a CAUTION: The front jack pads must not contact the rocker panels, the front fenders, or the floor pan. If they do, damage may occur.
The Jackpoint Recessed Jack Pads say they are 3 1/2 inch diameter. I use my jack(s) to lift the car on the jack pads and then use jack stands on the proper referenced GM locations. Would appear if you use the Jackpoint devise you should still have 2 1/2 inch max diameter pads.
The Reverse Logic jack pads are 2 1/2 inch OD.
