Getting gas at a Shell station a couple of weeks ago. All of a sudden I hear "that's one bad-*** car". Turned around to see where the female voice was coming from but couldn't tell. I said what? She again said "that's one bad-*** car you have there". It was a 30-ish lady on the other side of my pump.
Getting aged? I don't think so.
And that's just one of many compliments that the car gets, almost daily.
I don't see many of them around where I live; however, I have noticed that the car does not get as much attention as it had a few years ago. With that said, just because a new model comes out does not make it better looking than the previous one. This is just my opinion but I found the models to be:
C1 = C2 = C3 = C4 = C5 = C6 = C7 =
Will the C8 or C9 get better in the looks category, that remains to be see. I don't plan on ever selling mine and if I do decide to purchase another vette, I will be looking for a C1 or C2.
I'll be the dissenter here and say that as an evolution of the C6, it has become dated. Having said that, I'm on my 4th vette since 2011 (and 2nd C7 Z) and I've enjoyed them all. But, it doesn't get anywhere near the looks of my McLaren. Perhaps there are simply too many vettes where I am, but very few people even give it a look.
There's definitely a stigma about vettes being for old men. I guess at 48, some would consider me to be old, but the car doesn't get the props it deserves IMHO. Among the things that I love most about vettes is access to local service. Oil changes for the McLaren cost me about $5K, as there is no dealer in MN and the Chicago dealer (until CJ Wilson recently took over) sucks. So, it requires transport...
My fingers are crossed for a mid engine car to compete with the FGT. I'm growing impatient!

Once the corvette goes mid engine only, I will have to switch brands and go with a Lamborghini Huracan.
Based on Corvette history looks like you will be stuck with the c7 (like it or not) till 2021 or so where it might be released as a all new c8 2022 model. Each gen has lasted a minimum of 8 years. Why would they change the car so quickly?
