Sean, it'd be fascinating to see your engine torn down and a full set of measurements taken. I bet you've got more track hours than anybody on the LT4 - would be interesting see the wear points and rates.
I know you don't plan to do that, and I'm not suggesting you should, just that it'd be fascinating to see the results.

Since he's complained about it to me, I've been suggesting a compression test at the absolute least. But, I suspect at this point it may be too late... ;-)
I am pretty positive that the ZL1 1LE will be faster on a road course than a Z06.
Randy liked the handling of the ZL1 during Motor Trend test in comparison to Z06. He was a second slower than the Z06 but he said it was a lot less work to control the ZL1 vs the Z06.
I am positive he will run faster in a ZL1 1LE. The extra weight is not a problem.
That said, the new ZR1 (or Z06 1LE) will be faster than the ZL1 1LE
Most laps were low to mid 140's and I am flat on the gas until the 5 marker.

Yeah, I thought GM might be interested in that but wasn't about to ask.

Yup, she's gone now. I wasn't going to do a compression test myself to then try and convince the dealer that something was up. It just wasn't worth the hassle.
For all those trading in their corvettes...please share what the trade in was on your Z06 as your went for the ZL1.
I wouldn't make the trade but having four seats sometimes is necessary,
Two different dealers in different parts of the country offered an estimate of $61K but it wasn't firm since they hadn't seen the car. CarMax offered $58K. In the end this car cost me $1K/month to own and that was well worth it. Hell, I spend nearly that much a day at the track when you add it all up.
She's on to a new home now. I'm going to stick around on the forum and will see some of you at VIR in my M3. It'll give me an opportunity to work on my point-bys.

Of course the ZO6 is faster it's lighter and more aerodynamic and cost 20-40k more than the ZL1
Just because something costs more doesn't make it faster. By your logic, the 918 is faster than ACR because it costs 9-10x more, but we know that to be false.
Worst troll ever...
