I bought my 1st Corvette in 1970 when I was 29. I bought my 8th and current Corvette in 2014 when I was 73 and am still driving it today at 76. I can't see myself ever not having a Corvette to drive.
I just got mine and I'm mid twenties. I could have paid cash but I am trying to establish credit and paying for everything with cash kind of makes that impossible lol.
To answer the original question it really boils down to priorities and income stability. If you're a young entrepreneur then yeah sure you can get one at a young age easily (assuming priorities), but your average person in their 20s generally can't afford a 60-100k car...they're too busy paying for college / family / expenses. I'd say 28-40 is when you start really settling into your career and if you're single with no plans for a family it can become financially feasible at a younger age.
I'm 33 and this is my first Vette. Professionals in my age range tend to gravitate to Maseratis, Porsches, BMWs, etc. This has been my observation.
I chose the Vette because I like to go fast and make power. It's easy to mod this car to do just that.
Same, everyone in my age range gravitates towards European cars. I live in the most expensive area in Houston and have already gotten just as many oggles as my friend who has a Hurracan!
The C7 is a very price worthy option both aesthetically and performance wise.

sorry, but theres no official counter for the oggles any car gets and I truly doubt that a C7 vette gets anywhere near the amount of looks or "oggles" as a Lambo Huracan...lets not start kidding ourselves here
Anyone that knows cars, obviously knows the difference. I've ran across some people who are completely oblivious and think my car is a Ferrari and ask me why my doors don't open upwards.
I am just curious since it is not that expensive to buy .. you get alot bang for your buck with this gorgeous vehicle why arnt many younger males driving it ??
If you're talking really young (20s) guys, they have a lot to do to establish themselves financially. Also, they likely have only one vehicle that has to serve all purposes. A crossover or small sedan is going to fill the bill a lot more easily for them.
As an example, both my sons are in tech fields where one could probably afford a C7 without a lot of financial pain, and the other could write a check for it. The first one drives a 2007 Chrysler Sebring, and the other drives a 2013 Dodge Dart. They are spending their money on travel and saving to buy housing, not on cars.
Old guys are going to have a lot more resources, on average, and more leisure to enjoy a sports car.

It's all about the rarity of the car in question, to bolster your point. Any Lamborghini is a rare sighting. There simply aren't a high volume car. They only make/sell 30,000 C7s a year, so while it is more common to see a Vette vs. a Lamborghini, it still turns heads. It's America's Sports Car
I get a fair number of "ogles" in Maryland. Even more so in my wife's hometown of Bassett, VA.
How many ogles you get in a Vette depends on where you are. In Dubai or Miami, a Lambo isn't all that rare a sight.

When I lived in Portland Oregon I got looks, oogles, comments and pictures taken quite often. In Lake Havasu, AZ nobody really pays attention. There are a lot of Corvettes. I blend in pretty good down here. Going to buy a torch red Z06 pretty soon, so maybe I can get that attention I used to. LOL
I'll take a stab at it. The corvette in general has always been a large sports car. Most younger guys seem to prefer sports cars that are smaller and generally those are all the other imports. I think corvettes will always have that larger image, even the C8. Young and old alike are into large sized muscle cars...but are there any other sizes in that class? Maybe the mustang but that has been my observation from young (70s) to old (now).

No one around here can tell the difference between a base and z06.

Tons of vettes here in NC too.
Not here in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area. I can drive for days without seeing one. The only one I see is a yellow C4 convertible that is parked under a carport on my drive to work. I don't think it has moved in years.

Today, there's so many less expensive choices for younger people to make. I was fixated on a new Corvette as the ultimate, affordable choice to make, provided I had the $. I did, when 25.
Money. Hard worked career, good pensions, lots invested and saved. Unlike the young today who are waiting for someone to give them what they think they are "Entitled To". Have a nice wait.
