I just purchased a 2002 arctic white convertible w/ tan leather interior and tan top. the center console arm-rest has checkered flag across top, also in leather. Car is in excellent (show) condition w/ only 34k miles on it. Was told previous owner showed the car and that it was only one of 5 of this particular model in the US. This is my first vette, so know very little about them. Anyone know why this one might be rare or unique, or that it even is? Would appreciate any info available.
It might be rare for the color combination of the white, tan interor, tan top. You can search the web for production numbers for color combos for each year. Maybe others will chime in to help more.
I believe for the most part these cars were ordered in the color combo that the purchaser wanted, I don't believe many were manufactured without being attached to a specific order for a specific buyer....if there are only 5 in this color combo I think it just means not many people ordered it.....
Sorry - I just love pictures of Vettes... Best of luck with your new ride... If you share a picture of your SPID (the white label in your glove box or in your console) will tell us if you have any rare options.

I also have a white 2002 vert with oak top and leather. Last year at a local car show I saw two other identical cars, all three were manual 6 speed. Led me to believe it's not so rare but I never researched the numbers.

Only 57 were made with manual transmissions in 2002 model year.
I don't know anything about specific numbers/rarity, but I will say that I love white, either arctic white or speedway white, on C5's. An under appreciated color in my opinion, but very classy looking. Sounds like a beautiful C5 (also has the right top). Good luck with your new baby and enjoy some summer drop top cruising! Best wishes!

And white was the first color on the first Corvettes back in 1953.
My 2001 is, or was identical. It now has a black top and black and chrome wheels. I love the color white. I have a white ford truck, a white boat, a white toyota 4 runner and a white utlity trailer. It's sorta funny because I didn't plan it that way. Yours is a very nice and clean looking Vet
