St. Louis only built 20 '67 Corvettes with the L-88 option and all 127 have been accounted for.

The buyer? Cliff Gottlob and the white #88 car, #21550.
Supposedly, accounting contacted Cliff a few times trying to get him to come get the car.
Also, I know for sure that one of the cars above is not a real L88 and I'm 99% sure that another is also not a real L88. I'll never tell though.

It has only recently become somewhat common knowledge that they actually built a few 1966 L88 cars. Sort of like mule cars. I fact they say that the infamous Road and Track "Top Ten Fastest Cars" 1966 Corvette that turned a 12 second quarter on the factory bias belt skinnys was one of those L88s I remember thinking all those years
" how was that possible without slicks?" There is a thread about it either here or on the NCRS forum.

One of the cars pictured above was the last 67 L88 to leave the St Louis assembly plant. It was also the last 67 Corvette to leave the plant. The car was assembled and was to be a plant delivery but the buyer, for what ever reason, didn't pick up the car until after 68's were being produced.

You guys keep using the oldest version of the picture of my initial research to nail down these cars and not the later ones, I did? The one yellow car, not an original one., the Northern California yellow S&K Chevy car is a real one! I pictured the Bast Chevrolet blue car twice there early on, but it turned out to.be the same car and not different cars! (the on track picture and the profile shot). A more recent thread I listed up more current info on axles and dealerships. I still think 21 cars, but the so called experts count the Green Towers prototype car as one of the 20! I count it as car 21!
OK I still study Corvette stuff, 'my preferred reading while on the toilet. I actually keep a stack of old literature to grab while sitting. When I get thru the stack, I go grab another stack! Occasionally something prompts my interest. Like one of the recent ACI Turbo cars was in One of the Vette Mags and the Owner had big holes in his cars history! So I pull the ACI ownerships own interview of his own business and he can't remember any dates on what he was doing and with who! He partnered with Greenwood and then they had a big legal war! So I have all of the dates and how that car was built! I have those product catalogs prior to Greenwood, during the Greenwood partnership and after the split! Stuff like that is interesting to me!!
Ok the latest on L88 1966 cars and HD cars!
There were only three, possibly four only total that ran down the production line(supervised special builds)!!!!
The rest of the HD cars were built up from parts kits shipped to the Dealerships- like Harry Mann, Alan Green, etc. They were shipped the gear drive cams, the M22s, etc. The Prototype car used at the Proving Grounds for the CD Mags article 12/65 was the car I discovered that had a 8000 RPM tach! It had iron heads and then aluminum and then back to iron! It was tested and ran in different configurations.

Many of them have controversy!
The Delorenzo one does!
The #92 SCCA racer does!
The Daytona Racer does!
And others!

'67 L88 Corvettes were built in two places, St. Louis and Houston........
