Front doesn't get all that much damage from driving on the streets. Sides of car can be damaged very quickly as front tires constantly throw road debris onto side of car thus chipping clear coat with thousands of very small nicks.
I have 26,000 miles. Within my first couple months of ownership I had a head on with a hubcap. . Two small chips from the incident. Expel would not of saved that. I will leave those there for the next owner.
It's really all about luck... One vehicle of mine had 9 rock chips in 200 miles, another had zero in 25k miles.
Clear bra does help (has to be done by a very good place if not, it will come up and look like crap over time, I have xpel done over 2 years and looks like it has been just installed still and the "self healing" isn't bad, i had a bigger chip under the front bumper where the it meats the plastic, protected the paint and clear bra on it just "melted" back together). Not trying to advertise clear bra, just stating my experience. Technology has come a long way with clear bras and tints just over the 3 years... The bottom line is the craftsmanship and quality of the person doing it. Plus any legit place will have a lifetime warranty on it.
You can also use Dr. Colorchip kit on it instead of getting the entire front end resprayed (expensive as hell and doesn't prevent chips happening again and again and again). Kracka and I have used Dr. Colorchip, it isn't as fantastic as respraying the entire front BUT works hell of a lot better than a touch up paint.

in South Florida the roads are full of small rocks and crap. The roads here are in a never ending state of repair. Rock chip heaven... not sure about respray but when it get bad I'll just do a new bumper cover.
$600 to do the nose, black car came out beautiful. Guys an expert who blends it in. Frankly probably better then fighting the bugs and crap on Xpel which I have on 2 other cars.
