I used photobucket as well so I'm in the same boat, but I'll play devils advocate here. How dare a "for profit" company charge for their product or services. Really? It was nice while it lasted, but how much free stuff are you providing in your respective fields or businesses?

Yes, I have the original dual snorkel air cleaner on my '72. I tossed the original Quadrajet back in '76 in place of a Holley #6772 spreadbore double pumper 650cfm. It was a direct replacement. Only had to bend the fuel line a very small amount. The only thing I didn't like about the Holley was that the idle screws were the reverse setup. To lean out the mixture, You had to screw them counterclockwise instead of the usual clockwise. Some years ago I got rid of the original metering blocks and replaced them with the conventional ones so the idle screws now lean when turning clockwise. I don't think you'll find a 6772 available anymore, but every once in awhile they pop up on ebay. I picked up an extra last year for around $20.00 and rebuilt it just to have a spare. Hope some of this info helps you.

I found and bought a Holley 4165 List 6772 spreadbore that needs rebuilding. It's missing the bracket for the throttle linkage and kickdown mounting studs. Could you or anyone with a Holley using a factory throttle cable and automatic transmission tv cable post a picture please? Thanks!

I will not argue that fact but in order to get a Q-jet to that level takes more work than I care to do. I don't have anywhere near that horsepower rating and my Q-jet is needing the idle circuit modified in order to get it to idle consistently. I also prefer mechanical secondaries on any performance orientated engine. I like my Q-jet but I feel like it has it's place in regards to performance and tune ability.

I have used Holley 650 spread-bores double pumpers on my 1968 and 1970 Corvettes since 1974. The Quadra-jets leaked fuel from the fuel bowls when parked is why I got rid of them. My Holley's have always started the Corvettes quicker.

Again, My Vette is a 76 with TH350 trans but do any of you have a picture you can post of the throttle and kickdown attachment points on the Holley? I am Not referring to the brackets that mount to the intake or the rear carburetor mounting stud but the bracket that mounts to the carb itself and rotates with acceleration. My newly acquired 4165 6772 is missing that piece. Thanks!

I want to update an old thread please. I rebuilt and installed a 4165 (list 6772) Holley on my small block 1976 I found the attaching point for the kickdown cable was too far forward and the Holley actually sat a bit higher than the quadrajet and wouldn't allow the hood to close with the factory snorkle air cleaner. So to make a long story short, I removed the Holley and reinstalled the quadrajet permanently.
