Default Recommendations on <$40 LED Low Beam (9006) Head Light Bulbs on Amazon or Ebay?

Not looking to spend more than $40 because I know others have had success with more generic variants.

If anyone has recommendations, it would be greatly appreciated! Also what features to specifically look for in choosing bulbs for our cars.

For example:

Please spare the recommendations for forum vendors.

I grabbed these

http://www.ebay.com/itm/YITA-9006-HB...72.m2749.l2649

and these

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-9005-9006...72.m2749.l2649

They are much much better then the OEM bulbs, nice clear light with a very slight blue tint. Now i can actually see at night, and the price was right. Without the resistors the LED did not work properly(very dim), and the headlights didnt want to close.

I'm running a set of MostPlus LED's purchased on the national auction site. 9006 6000k. That was the best $35.00 spent on the Vette. I use the light several times a week.

P. S. Make sure you purchase this generation or newer. The first and second generation LED's have either several cooling fins or something that looks like ballast

Thanks guys, I just ordered the MOSTPLUS LEDs (also happens to be what the person in the Youtube video used, and he said he's still very happy with them months later).

FYI here's a list of the MOSTPLUS bulbs for anyone interested:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...6+hb4&_sacat=0

They also got good reviews on Amazon (without any fake reviews):
Amazon Amazon

The ones I chose are 60 Watts total (30 Watts each)...perhaps I should have ordered higher wattage ones which are 40 watts each to get closer to stock wattage (55 watts each?) and avoid hyperflash?

I'm running the HIR and they work great, but at some point the LED's will surpass. I would like to see how these 80w MostPlus compare to the HIR's side by side.

They will only match/surpass HIRs when they can properly mimic a halogen bulb filament. Brightness is not the only issue, a proper light pattern is equally important to brightness.

Surpass means many things: Performance (Brightness), Pattern (Dimensional Integrity to Reflector), Color (K), Reliability, and especially Life. Until they solve the heat issue, as not to require auxiliary fans, it's kind of a show stopper, but what they've accomplished so far in the housing market is pretty remarkable. It will happen, probably sooner rather than later, but they do still have a ways to go.

Tsumi - which brand do you recommend and do they need to be modified to fit?

Philips 9012 HIR. Some modification is required, easily done with nail clippers or a wire cutter.

You would cut out everything except for the area in red on the top tab only (9006 bulb on the left for reference).

Yeap that is what I did also. LEDs run into problems of the lights not going down or scattering light everwhere. Sure look brighter but not better than HIRs.

And dont even think of putting HIDs in stock housing

Installed the Mostplus LEDs today. MUCH brighter light, whiter (and not blue), all at a lower wattage (30 watts/bulb versus 55 watts/bulb for stock). No hyperflash or anything. The headlight buckets do close properly, as long as the lights have been on for a while and/or the car is running. But if they don't go down, all it takes is flicking the stalk forward to the high beam position when the lights are off.

My only two super-tiny complaints right now are: 1) this is being nit picky, but the LED bulbs are technically heavier than the stock bulbs since they have fans on the back of them, and also a ballast-looking small box. But, this weight may only amount to at most 2 ounces, so it's purely psychological. 2) there is more wiring than stock plus the small metal boxes which dangle off the wire. I could see these bouncing around during turns, braking, or acceleration and possibly making an annoying clunking sound. I somewhat secured them with zipties but will probably find a more secure method in the future.

Will try to update this thread once I do some night driving.

To further on my last post, took the car out for a couple night drives so far, and really happy with the light output, and direction of beam. To my knowledge the light is not scattering as other oncoming drivers haven't been flashing their lights at me as they would when I forget to turn my high beams off.

So far so good...snapped this quick pic after driving my city "circuit" last night:

^^ Excellent! Good to know. What did you need the canbus harness for?

Also do you have a front on photo? I think I would rather 4300K or 5000K if they exist??

No Canbus/resistors/hyperflash harness necessary. They are plug and play.

See video in my original post (not my video, someone else's) for a front shot of the lights. They are pure white, no bluish tint or anything to them.

Here from the other thread where you recommended these. I'm giving the 40watt version a shot. Hoping that'll be close enough to the stock rating so I won't have any fiddlyness with the popups. I DD mine, and with the days getting so short, I do a lot of night driving.
