As in how do you use them, where do you go, who goes with? I've finally reached a point in my life where I've acquired a small collection of cool cars. But now I I find myself not driving them much. I can't drive them to work, I drive in a steel mill. I live in Indiana so there are very few scenic routes nearby. As we've gotten older I don't hang out at friends houses much. All the local small towns are getting more congested so it's getting hard to park in an out of the way spot. My wife has zero appreciation for the cars. I love my old cars but I'm lost as to what to do with them.
Summer car, I drive mine anywhere that I need to go. Yesterday on the lake.
When I know it's not going to rain I take one of the fun cars...on the other hand my 71 year old father has 3 really nice classics and never drives them. Since 1994 he has driven 2 of the 3 about 2 times total. What a waste.
It took me this long to figure out owning cars is a bit like dating girls. You need to make a lot of bad decisions early on but eventually you tend to find the keeper.
I had 7 cars at one stage and I am down to 4 with another about to go on the market. The reason is simply any time I want to leave the house I will take the LS3 64 Coupe. If its torrential weather I will take something modern but otherwise there is nowhere I wont go in the Corvette.
I made a conscious decision to buy a car with cosmetic imperfections so I would never worry about parking it at the supermarket and that makes the car usable every day !
I dug out an old picture for another thread and thought it would be a good fit for here, it's my old 58 Shasta behind Dads (now mine) 57. loaded up for a trip to Indy for the US nationals. Now that's how to use a 57!
