Default How does the zr1 splitter fit on a base?

ive just removed my front splitter as and got a new one.
Problem is as I removed it I noticed it was fixed high up on the front bumper, is this right?
i ask as I could easily go lower where there is a lip already on the bumper. This would lower the splitter but also seems neater as the top of the splitter sits against the lip on the bumper. The splitter on the side would also be fixed to the harder plastic section of the bumper as oppose to the soft fibreglass up top.

The ZR1 splitter will only fit on the wide-body C6s (Z06 and GS)

No sorry this is a copy made for the base c6.

Just wondering if others have the splitter below the bumper line or on the bumper looking at the side bit next to wheel arch

I have the ZR1 style splitter on my (base) 2006 and it doesn't sit that high on the bumper; it actually fits under it. Here's a side view pic ...

Thanks that’s what I thought. I guess I can either install the new one high where the old one was or get all the holes repaired and install it properly

I guess the previous owner put the sides high up for more clearance. Didn’t notice anything strange until I removed it, looked perfectly normal but with the correct position it will be at least 3 inches closer to the ground.

I am getting ready to install one on my base made for my base like welker1 and EVRose. Do I need to remove the side end air dam and leave the center piece there? Just quickly holding it in place I don't believe it will fit correctly unless I remove the side sections of the air dam. Thanks for any help didn't come with instructions.

Thanks guys a bunch with everything posted I could not find a positive post saying to remove them. I tried looking at pictures but it wasn’t clear as some looked like they were still on. Installing tonight. Already installed the ZR1 side skirts last year.
