I've seen the photos on here somewhere...requires some welding naturally, and its a much sturdier bracket.

^ I think that's the original bracket, not the redesigned one.

Oh snap... Should I tack weld? It looked to be pretty sturdy when I installed them...

I wouldn't do anything unless it snaps. Its driving me nuts I cant find the picture of the redesigned bracket Akra sends you if yours breaks. If my memory serves me correctly, I almost think it ties the mufflers together by bridging the two inward tail pipes.

Hhhmmm....interesting, as the mufflers are titanium I wonder how they would weld them ?

Just found a pic of the updated one. I'd be interested in finding out who got replacement parts for a fix. I've tried asking distributers but got the runaround.

My local muffler shop said they'd have to take the muffler off being that it's Ti costing 300 bucks.

Nothing sounds better than Fusions with LT headers, xpipe and hi flo cats. Open flaps and nothing sounds deeper or more
badass. Period.

OK, that's what I remember. I think one guy had to re-weld the tabs on the muffler cans, but also added the cross-brace in the picture.

Black Dog eh? Very, very nice. That is a truly functional piece. They tested that hood in GM's wind tunnel. My buddy runs one on the track and I've been trying for years to get him to sell it to me...

WTF ever.... Move along Junior.... IF you can't afford the Akra's its ok... Ya know, ya gotta run something on these cars....

Being that I have owned BOTH systems I can speak from experience. Can you say the same? Or are you simply running your head in an attempt to derail the main topic,...

Wonder if their is a market for something like that?? I have a friend who is a fabricating GOD when it comes to mufflers, cat backs, etc...

To be honest, I don't know why they even did that. The OEM exhaust uses only the factory hangers with the rubber isolator hangers in the back, which is still used by the Akro's.
Not sure why they felt a need to tie the two mufflers together.
