It’s cold down here in Houston. This was taken while on my way to work this morning (while stopped at a light). It was 23 degrees a few minutes earlier, while on the Grand Parkway. Fortunately, no precipitation or lingering water on the roadway. Anybody else venture out with their C7?
It was 18 degrees when I got up this morning here in Virginia. My car is in the garage under a cover for now. They've got the roads doused in salt brine or peppered with rock salt. Its supposed to get down into the single digits later this week, and we might get hit with a huge cyclone of some sort. Once the weather warms up and we get a good rain to wash away the salt, I'll venture back out. For now I'm driving my beater Prius or the Silverado if we get some snow.
-2 degrees a couple of days ago. Not only did I not drive my Z06, I didn't leave the house. I turned over and went back to sleep, here in southwest Missouri.
The west is having a drought and warm temps. I have purchased my train tickets to ride the Durango & Silverton steam train in the middle of February. Riding a steam train in the snow in the Colorado mountains is on my bucket list. Wolf Creek Pass averages around 36 FEET of snow annually. Lookin at the camera's it looks like they have maybe 3 inches of snow in the high mountains and none in Durango, Pagosa Springs, etc.
We are in the 20's as a high and Durango is in the 50's.
I'm thinking of getting a refund on my 5 train tickets and cancel my motel reservations. Weird weather this year.
I drove mine in -30 all last week, that is minus 30 , this week it's going to be 41f at the warmest and that is roof off weather in Canada. Handles really good even stopping on black ice.

Thought maybe you might say "get some snow tires so you can get out in the rock salt and brine and play". Still me when people do that to a Corvette. It is Corvette abuse.
Something I see should be a special pristine summer car. Worked long hours to afford my first Corvette and treated them all with respect.
The one time I did buy a new car and said heck with it and drove it all winter.
The car got what looked like 5 years of use in one winter rock chips
all over. Windshield as well as the hood and the wheels, the rockers and lower doors were chipped.
Now I own 3 winter vehicles and 3 cars. I don't take my cars
out on the ice or in the gravel salt mix.
Did the hour long commute to work in a single degree yesterday. Today was a balmy 18. Somewhere between 1 and 12 degrees, my tire temperature monitor won't get to warm. At 13 degrees, it took about 20 minutes of driving at ~63mph to hit warm on the tires.
It was in the teens this morning in Austin when I got up. I waited until it was 23 and left to go home to MD. It warmed up quickly, though. The sun was finally shining, and it was 41 when I stopped for lunch . I was here a month, and only saw the sun two days.
The sun came out and I thought I better go for it! I'll be taking four days instead of the three it took for me to get to Austin, so I can travel only during the middle of the day . It shouldn't be bad temp-wise until I get to the 95 corridor.

Out at the same time this morning, on grand parkway (south of I-10) on the Michelin PSS and they did good. First winter with my white C7 GS and it handles just fine if driven sensibly.

Hopefully you enjoyed your stay here in Austin. Usually we're in the 60's this of the year, but it's been way below average for us.

-10 this morning. 23 would be a heat wave. We live in the armpit of the country. Friggin sucks
Since the day after Christmas, the high temps have averaged 32F for 2 weeks here in Mooresville, NC (25 miles north of Charlotte) and I have had 2 mechanical issues. One is the memory function on the driver seat. Sometimes the seat will not move into the set driving position and sometimes the exit function will not work correctly and I have to manually move the seat for both issues. The other was the day after New Year’s, my 3 year old battery on my 2015 had some hesitation during cranking but it turned over.
I retired the first week of last Dec. and I have only used less than a 1/4 tank of gas for the past month.

I guess none of you guys are worried about cracking and destroying your tires. GM and Michelin warn that temperatures below about 35 degrees will do just that. Plenty of forum members reported just that happening.
