Why doesn't GM offer an extended warranty on the 2016 ZO6 C7?
You are correct. GM does not offer their own extended warranty but each dealership sells an extended warranty that's not GM. When I ordered my C7 I also paid $3000 for a bumper to bumper extended warranty from the dealer. On my C5 I had three warranties on it before I got rid of it. Only one of them was GM. The extended was not and after that expired I was able to get another one. According to two dealerships in Austin, TX all dealerships sell an extended warranty that is not GM.

As noted above, GM markets and sells their own plan. There are tons of threads on here about it and a supporting vendor who offers great prices on it. Dealers may choose to sell other products, but there is absolutely a GM product and it is what most of those on the forum who purchase one use. It should be noted, in the fine print you'll see the GM plan is run by a 3rd party, but it is still marketed and sold by GM.
To be helpful, I did the hard work of putting "Chevrolet extended warranty" into Google, and one click later....
All of the above information is great, GM has a third party, administer their warranty program but it is called Chevrolet Protection Plan, Buick Protection plan, Cadillac Protection Plan or GMC Protection Plan. Anyone needing a quote you can contact me at dfichtner@dennymenholt.com and include your VIN, exact miles and date of purchase if you bought it used. I can cover Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC and if you have a non GM brand it can be covered also under the My Auto Protection plan with the same coverage as the GM plans.

That is because the sellers make more money selling the other plans than GMs. What I have found is you never want to purchase a plan that isn't offered by the car manufacturer. They are the only ones that you can be sure aren't crooks. I purchased an extended warranty through my credit union on one of my vehicles since they were selling it a lower price than the local dealers. When I had a major problem with the engine rings (using a quart of oil every 250 miles) the plan was out to lunch and would not cover the repair. GMPP at the time would have. Ally's renamed GMPP (they can't use the name anymore since their contract with GM ran out) might still be good but you take your chances with anything else.
