What did you do to your C5 today?
Just took my C5 on errands to hardware store and auto-zone to pick a few things.
Got another month before we go back north to Vermont - taking Corvette back and swinging through Nashville for a few days.
Getting old isn't all bad.
in it. Shifting is graunch-free now and seems smoother. Also adjusted the emergency brakes. Lots of meat left, just put a few clicks into the mechanism after spraying the whole affair with brake-cleaner, and the e-brake doesn't pull up quite all the way anymore, and the car stays planted on my sloped driveway.
Lastly, I removed the center console to adjust the shifter. I discovered the PO put in some sort of blue-anodized short-shift kit into the car. I pulled it out and lubed it up with some white lithium spray grease, and pinned the shift shaft while I loosened, then re-torqued the box and shaft to spec.
Shifting is much, much more direct and accurate now, and I think my reverse-gear popout problem is either licked or reduced. I suspect I will have to pull the tranny down and do the reverse gear switcheroo and replace the fork pads at some point in the future.
