Default Rocking seats

I currently have a 1999 Corvette and my seats when I brake or take off have about a 1/2" play back and forth. I was told I would have to replace the tire tracking system with the seats for $1,000s. Any advice on to fix this rocking in my seats?

Thanks,

DWK from Michigan

Just to be sure, which one of these 2 problems are you experiencing? Or is it both?

Sliding seat:

Rocking seat:

Besides the problem with the shims, there is also the possibility of 1 or 2 flanges at the rear of the seat track being bent or broken.

The video above in Post 3 explains in detail the problem and how to fix it.

I'm experiencing both. I bought doorman rocking seat repair kit that only comes with 5 plastic Nylon bushings. My rocking bottom photo isn't too bad yet. So i need to replace the seat brackets at rear to fix 2nd photos rocking issue?

I used 1/8" thick rubber washers from Lowe's instead of nylon, but this is a good explaination of how to fix it (WITH pictures). Total cost; under $5.

You would need this kit to repair the rocking problem from the 2nd picture (it also includes the inserts to fix the sliding problem shown in the 1st pic). If both flanges are damaged, there's another kit that provides 2 flanges plus the inserts.
