I will be selling my hood and am hoping you all can give me a fair asking price based on the condition and also what year hood this is. I'm not trying to sell it here or get offers, just a fair listing price and then I will post in the sale section. The only major damage I can see is on the one hinge mount. It has a crack and I inserted a small screw driver to highlight the crack. It still is fairly tight by hand but when opening the hood on the car, you can see the flex when you go to full open. There is air cleaner rubbing on the inside and the inner crossmembers are not attached to the hood top in all spots where it looks like some sort of gasket or bushing is. I'm not sure what the cracking is along the hump on the top as it still feels solid. It appears to be originally a blue hood and someone added holes for the hood lift mounts on the opposite side of the original mount. The emblem to me appears to be a 66 and I'm not sure if all hood year emblems have the same mounting holes.
65, I believe the blue is the original color. I can see it on chips in the top and it was under the weatherstripping. The green line in the blue is strip glue. I guess based on the shape I would do best for local pick up.
That’s junk. Maybe some kids can use it for a roof over their tree house.
Advertise it “free if you come and get it” and you’ll be getting a good deal.
If it were an OEM ‘67 BB hood, it would be worth it to restore.
It’s not worth the cost to ship it so that’s out.
If nobody local takes it for free, dumpster it. Maybe cut it up into small pieces and it can go out with your trash.

Wow.
I think the OP "got it" after the first sentence....
From: Middle TN by way of KY, OH, VA, IL, CA, FL, NY, SC, HI
I recon that we've all made "horse soup"* out of the OP's question, but while it's not a 10/10 hood, not everybody needs, wants, or can shell out for a perfect hood.
I am known to hunt and buy "discount" parts myself, and have in fact been looking for a "discount" big block hood.

How would you box up a hood for safe shipping?
Thanks in advance.
Like Mikem said $100-150 tops very rough but fixable
I bought one in very similar condition, but mine was stripped and the damage around the hinge was already fixed...Guy wanted $400, but called me back as I walked away and he agreed to my $200 offer....fit's my car well. Happy.
Small block hoods are not very desirable I guess....but I wanted one.
BTW I have the 1967 427 hood that was on the car if anybody needs it.. Pretty virgin, second design GM, ever had a emblem. $750 you pick up.

You wanted an opinion on price . You got it whats the problem ?
No sir, I did not want an opinion on price. I didn't start this topic, but I did give my own opinion.
It's also obvious that my point is lost on you, so I will let it go.

it is not lost on me. Random dry humor in an unexpected thread.
