I took my tint off today. The car had 5% on it when i bought it a year ago and i finally just couldn't deal with it anymore. Tell me what you think!
Unless I have the top off I like having some privacy of tint, id at lease put 20% on it, even 35% will give you something. I always felt like I was in a fishbowl with no tint. JMO. I agree with the 5%, forget driving at night if you want to use the mirrors...look great, but not practical.
dropped my car as CSP(technically yesterday) for heads(AI 241 HCR), custom spec cam, fast 92, ls2 TB, balancer, and all the associated reliability stuff, hoping to see 430-450 wheel, at lease bring the old girl up to 2018 power standards for modern sports cars anyway!
Clearanced the radiator fan shroud to avoid the blower down pipe. Replaced all idler and tensioner pulleys with new pulleys/bearings for the blower. Reinstalled head unit along with gates RPM belt (really tight!)
I prefer dark tint, especially with your black rims. You did ask for opinions.
I only wanted positive opinions though!

I actually originally wanted to pull the tint off and have it replaced with 35%. I still may do that at some point. Im back and forth about it.
Had a very slow leak in one of my tires. I could not see any nail, screw, etc, so tried spraying with soapy water with no results. Put the wheel/tire into a large tank to check for bubbles that way. Nothing. Broke the tire down and found the o-ring on the TPMS was crushed, so replaced it and so far 9 hours later and tire pressure is holding.
I finished wrapping my mirrors and rear facia with a carbon fiber to match my roof.
Nice work! Did you do the work yourself? Looks like the mirrors are done in two parts. Good idea. How did you trim the vinyl and not cut the clear coat?

The mirrors were a slow process. It's easier when you're doing a large area. I used two pieces for the mirrors, and took me awhile to match the pattern the way I wanted it. I think I'll have to do redo the drivers side, I'm not totally happy with it. The rear, I just played around with a template made from butcher paper til I had it where I wanted it. Then I just overlayed the carbon fiber on it and cut it to match. Luckily it came out pretty close to where I wanted it. I'm playing around with the idea of putting Gran Sport hash marks on the front also in carbon fiber. But sometimes less is more. To answer your question about how I trimmed it.....VERY carefully. Didn't do any trimming for the rear as the template worked better than I thought it would. The mirrors are a different story. I had to trim around the opening where the mirror itself is. That was slow and tedious. Since the trimming was done on the inside of the opening, it wasn't a downward cut, more of a sideways slice. I kind of botched up the drivers side not getting a smooth uniform look. The passenger side came out much better. But since it was the first time doing this, I have a better idea how to do the driver side.

Cool! thanks for the update. How long do you think the carbon fiber vinyl will hold up before its is time to pull it and start over?
I'm in the middle of redoing the entire catch can system, but can't get to it until Monday. I had a large can mounted to the blower bracket. I am moving to an equal capacity with slightly different dimensions so I can squeeze it into the front right of the radiator area against the frame and under the AA aluminum cover for that area. The goal is twofold: make it look a bit cleaner, and also gain easier access to the drain. It had been sitting above the headers for two years - now I can just reach under the nose to drain it without having to wait for a cooldown and without worrying about drops getting on the exhaust and burning later.
One simple fix, too. I had a damaged silicone coupler from the blower kit which I had replaced. The air filter adapter to the blower wraps up and over the radiator and the ac condenser. As these shift slightly, they rub on the plastic bottom of the adapter. I cut the old coupler into two halves and slid one under the adapter - wrapping the tops of radiator and condenser. No more rubbing problem.

Since the car is garaged, and not used as a daily driver, like going to work everyday(I'm retired), it should last quite awhile. Maybe 5-7yrs., could be longer.
