Does this look correct? Finally got my Remy 61A replacement alternator following a clown series of events. This alternator has the plug in the correct 12 o’clock position and it went in OK, but I just noticed the head of the lower bolt that lets the alternator pivot is way too close to the belt for comfort. I reinstalled exactly as it came off and it looks like the only thing I can do to gain any clearance is remove the washer? Not sure this minimum clearance would have been accepted from the factory so I’m hoping the forum can chime in and offer other suggestions. Cars ia an AC car with PS if that helps. The empty front pulley is for the since removed air pump.

Looks corrrct,, but I'm thinking, you need a longer belt, and it will give to the clearance your looking for,, ,, This is my '75, PS,A/C, ,,,, seems to have a bit more wiggle room,,,,,,teddy

I believe NAPA sells belts in half inch increments longer. But in your case you need at least an inch longer. Not only will your new belt clear the bolt but it will make valve cover removal easier too.
