Can anyone enlighten me on use or difficulty in installing the GM protection bra on a Grand Sport? The GM accessory book indicates the GM bra fits both Stingray and Grand Sport. This is incorrect. It will not fit both. The Z06 bra fits the Grand Sport. However, it is a bear to attempt to install. Any info on installation is appreciated and any info on use results is appreciated also.

I have a 17 Stingray Z51 and got a GM Bra thrown in when I bought the car. Dealer had it installed when I picked up the car ( didn't know they were going to) so after I took it off and tried to install it, oh boy. Never did get it on again so it is hanging in the garage. It is just a frustrating design and I do not recommend it at all. There are a lot of clips that attach in the grill and many pieces that are to slide in between the light and the facia. In my case the fit here was so tight I was worried it would mark the paint.
I did buy a "NoviStretch" bra and while not giving the same protection it is easy to install and does supply some protection.
I realize you have a Grand Sport but thought this might help.
Apples and oranges. A clear bra or equivalent protects against minor rocks and debris affecting your paint and can be quite expensive. Something like a Novistretch does that and also protects your radiator and innards from bugs and debris which a clear bra will not do. On a long road trip the amount of bugs it catches is phenomenal. So it really depends on your objectives which way to go.
OK guys, this is just a buyer beware on the GM Bras. What you see here is the result on approx. 300 miles on an Interstate. The problem with this bra is there is no way to secure the felt tabs that go around the fenderwell so they will not slide to the middle. And yes, it took some fine rubbing compound, and elbow grease to gets some abrasions out of the paint where the bra was flapping in the wind. I suggest (your choice of course) that if the new GM bra are not redesigned to stop this you should send it back for a refund. If you want a bra that will stay in place get the Colgan. It is designed so ti won't do this. We just got back from a 3700 mile road trip with a Colgan, and the bra worked as advertised. I did cover the bumper with 3M blue paintrs tape before I installed the bra fit my own peace of mind.
FYI, before you install a bra like this put it in the sun for an hour or so. That way it is much more forgiving when you need to stretch it to fit.
I forgot, here's a picture of the Colgan bra. All I had to do when we got home was to remove the bra, pull the tape off, and clean the bugs out of the grill and off of the air dam. And, there are some big damn bugs in the mid-west this time of year.
The Colgan is covered with thicker material on the outside, and much thicker soft material on the underside than the GM Bra.

Matthew, I taped the entire front bumper where the bra came in contact with the paint. You don't have to do that, but it was just for my peace of mind. Running at 75 mph with a 20 mph headwind can move things around. Even a tight fit bra IMHO, and when you're out in the flat lands of the mid-west the winds blow very hard. And, the reason I didn't get the one with the emblem cut out was just my personal pick. Anywhere dirt, and grime can get in it certainly will.

If you don't want to pay for paint protection film but still need to occasionally protect the paint on road trips, use Xpel Track Wrap. Easy to install and peel off.
If you want something that shows swirl/spider marks and doesn't match the reflective surface of the paint after a few years then yeah.....it's only way to go. Period.

15 years ago that was true. Xpel and even 3M now have "self-healing" PPF. I have first hand experience on multiple cars with Xpel. They put their money where their mouth is....if it yellows or has some other sort of issue, it is covered via warranty (including the labor for the removal of the old and install of the new film) for 10 years.
A little dusty from sitting, but where's the 6 year old Xpel....

Covers up the front cameras. I don't want the radiator protected. I want full air flow for maximum cooling.
Does anyone know how well the red Speed Lingerie matches the Torch Red paint? Trying to decide between SL and the paint protection by Esoteric in Ohio.
