Always wanted a vette. And loved the 50th AE color and found it only 8 miles from where I live.

Loved the Z06 in Millenium Yellow when I first saw one and for my birthday in 2017 my wife paid part and gave me her blessing to get one. She us definitely a keeper and so is the car.

just like the shape. always have. am on my 2nd c5.

if they made the exact shape new along with highly upgraded interior, i'd buy new.

still warming to c7.....but not there yet. never quite got there on c6, other than maybe zr1.

I had a '98 C5 coupe in torch red with an A4 trans. It had a lot of mileage and I was ready to trade it in, so I knew what I wanted next. I took a test drive in an '03 red Z06 at Kerbeck so I was hooked immediately, but they wouldn't make me an acceptable deal. I found one at a dealer more local to me and I've been driving that car ever since. I now have 165,000 miles on it so I guess I've been fairly happy with my choice.

In high school I had a 65 GTO Vert 4 speed... gray with a black rag top...
The grey 04 C5 Vert 6 speed with the black rag top reminded me of my old goat... but a much better car! I smile everytime I look at it...

I was growing bored with my STi and wanted something less practical. I wanted RWD, manual, removable roof (non-T-Top). I didn't want something vintage or a Camarobird. My original hope was a Supra or 300ZX TT, but budget and availability wasn't working in my favor.

I had actually planned on drawing out the purchase and taking my time to find exactly what I wanted, but after selling my STi some inattentive driver crossed the center line and took out my Tacoma, so I needed something to daily while the new Tacoma I had ordered came in. The C5 hit enough of the points and then it was simply a matter of finding one that was either dark blue or black, manual and in good shape. I would have loved to have held out for a 2001+ car, but mine was in good enough shape and had no major needs (or so I thought at the time) and was reasonable. In my area, non-red cars and manuals were a premium, so I had to ante up a bit more than I had hoped, but man is it fun on back roads.

Needed to fulfill the car modding itch after a 5 year hiatus away from speed. Last car was a Subaru LGT I modified a lot. When selecting a c5, wanted a highly modified clean corvette ideally from an owner that didn't abuse that. Found exactly that and have carried on the torch of modding the car and not abusing it.

Though I've owned a ton of Corvettes, and wanted another, I sold my 70 Elco restomod to buy my Z06, my first C5.

Long story short. Fan of customs, hot rods and sleds (?) and American cars when I was a teenager...loved the 59' Vette. During my internship in Santa Monica got a ride a brand new 1994 C4 LT1....loved it, you guys are blessed by V8 sound you don't even realize. I promised myself for later. Fast forward 35y...my most significant long agony to MS burial passed and a new life starting, fed up of leasing beautiful Swedish station wagon as company cars, i decided to put my money on my dream...and live once. Encouraged buy my cousin who owns a C5 and reading so much about the C4 outdated systems...I drifted to C5, found one salvaged rebuild stock in classy colors and convertible... looked perfect, I took it. Thanks to Kurt who did a great job to make this car look new beside its 110kmiles...his dream car became mine.

Price and 1 owner garaged with over 30 thousand in repair and maintenance receipts, will concede color and the fact it's not a stick for a car that is this well cared for and sold at a great price..

15 years ago, the C5 was in it's final production year and the ratings and the success it had against world competition spoke loudly. At first, I was leaning towards a 2002 Z06 but, after some time a friend of mine was car shopping and spotted a black C5 coupe on the lot that had just arrived and he just raved about it. As a matter of fact, it's also the last time I shopped for a car the old conventional way of "walking the lot" 2000 C5 coupe, 6-spd, black on black, fully loaded with 31K on the odometer, the previous owner had already done some nice enhancements like lowering it, Mallett wheels, baby cam, ported heads and a few other things. Well with me being tired of my C4 ZR-1 nickel and diming me to death, it took about 2 minutes of driving the C5 and I was calling my bank ASAP. Truly, the best Corvette I've ever owned, with no plans of parting with it. It's just been a real sweetheart.

We don't get to choose a Vet it chooses us, kind of like the way a puppy chooses you lol. You see it and can't walk away without taking it home.

I wanted a C5 because I love the mix between old school rumble feel, exotic design, pop up headlights, and modern FI tech. I specifically wanted the HUD as well. I came upon mine by visiting my mechanic after selling my old car and asking if he’s seen any C5s for sale lately. He logged into his online auction account and I found one I liked and placed a bid on it right on the spot. I bought it sight unseen and traveled to pick it up the next week. Risky but fun. Everything works as advertised but I did have to replace the rear gears a month into owning it. I love my car!

I've wanted a Corvette for about 40 years. Last March, my wife finally agreed that we may be too old to enjoy a Vette if we wait until after the kids are done with college. When I started looking, I found that a C6 with a few miles or a pristine C5 would be in my budget. I found a beautiful 2002 Z06 with 24,000 miles. I figured the Z06 would be more fun and a stock C6. I think I was right.
