[QUOTE=sleekvt;1605437248]I'm into red mid-engine cars... 2023 C8 3LT HTC (and 1987 Lotus Turbo Esprit)
Love the Esprit.
I'm sure you know --(but not many do) -- the GM owned controlling interest in Lotus for a while. The story I heard was that GM was spending $XXX per year on secret engineering consulting services (probably suspension, since that was Lotus main skill).... And someone at GM did the math and figured for a just a few bucks more, they could just buy the entire company vs. paying them as a vendor :-)
That's how the world ended up with the front wheel drive izuzu (also part owned by GM) powered M100 Lotus Elan.
I suspect Lotus contributed to Corvette handling at the time...I wonder if that is documented anyplace?
Of course this was all after Colin Chapmen had died and John DeLoran tried to blame the cocaine scheme on Chapman.
Those were the good old days in the car business :-)
Anyway, @sleekvet, nice collection! Long live mid-engine cars!
I purchased the first BMW I8 in PA. This plate touted the quickness of the I8. When I got my Vette, it clearly has more ponies than the I8, as such, CIAO to the I8.
