I am thinking about replacing my Michelien Pilot 295/35/18's with Pirelli Pzero 315/30/18's. My biggest concern is the smaller rolling diameter. If I did my math correctly:
Stock -- 26.7 inch diameter
295/35/18 -- 26.1 inch
315/30/18 -- 25.4 inch
I had no problems with 295/35/18's. Would the 315/30/18's effect active handling at all?
Re: Anyone have Pirelli 315/30/18's in the back? (sbkim)
I just did mine and I love them. Definatley handles a lot better than the run flats. A little smoother too. Still a stiff ride because of the shorter sidewall. I am not sure if you are going to be able to tell much differnce in width from the 295s. Pirelli doesn't have the section and tread width published so its all eyeball. I haven't found a z06 to park next to for a side by side comparison. Probably too close to tell and you will be sacrificing a little diameter. On the bad side, it doesn't fill the wheel well and well (I am just going to have to lower it a little more). On the good side, it does "feel" a little quicker. I have heard it referred to as a "poor mans gear swap". I think I calculated a 3.42 with stock tires is the same as 3.54 with the pirelli's. Check out this website, it will give you more info than you know what to do with.

Yes, I have them. See my sig for my setup. You will need to lower the car after you put them on, but this is a no brainer. After lowering, have the car realigned. I don't have pics up, but I will soon. They look awesome. It makes the stock 275's look like mini-spares. If you have any other specific questions, let me know.

"Ambitin" has them on a White FRC with a MTI heads/cam package. Hunt around for his posts - he has plenty of pics. He's very low, and it looks awesome.
