Will the C8 brake pads have the brake dust problems like the C7?

...if you got too much brake dust... you are using the wrong pedal too much !

Never knew my C7 had brake dust problems.

Just remove the brake pads all together and you'll never have any brake dust to worry about...buuuuutttttttt you'll likely have plenty of CFP/FRP panel dust to worry about.

not sure i would call it a problem, race car stuff is much different than waxer stuff. just saying. its far from a problem, premium items that work to the fullest potential sometimes makes things dirty. lol

Brake dust is not a problem it is a modern car reality

These threads feel like “Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Hey, are we there yet?” I don’t care about brake dust, ugly buttons, where cameras are mounted—I just want to see the car!

You must have a base Stingray without Z51. The base cars’ rotors are treated with a Ferritic Nitro-Carburizing process that hardens the rotors and prevents corrosion. They are always shiny and they don’t rust when they get wet. And the standard pads produce no visible dust. Street performance is excellent even for aggressive driving, I never got any fade. But for track days you need Z51 and with that comes brake dust. I am hoping that the base non-Z51 C8 continues to use these rotors and pads.

What's the problem with brake dust from a Vette? It sounds like a good problem to have because it means you're behind the wheel of your awesome Vette instead of on the sideline watching them drive by & wishing you owned one.

You just get the optional dust colored rims and don't worry about it.

Power stops on my Z51....... No brake dust, I don’t give a damn if it takes 5 feet longer to stop!

Dispensing with the great brake debate and back to the OP, we don't know at this point. On the C7, base cars had non-dusting pads and smaller brakes. The Z51 option brought bigger, slotted rotors and calipers equipped with more performance-oriented pads suitable for occasional track duty. The latter are high-dusting, which is a cost of better clamping power and less fade.
It's quite possible the C8 will go the same direction.

Now that this thread has been revived after 15 months the C8’s are on the road now and we can confirm that the base C8 brakes stay very clean. You can drive a week or 2 and not see any visible brake dust. They’re fine for normal or even enthusiastic driving. But for the track or canyon carving where you repeatedly brake hard you need Z51 and the brake dust comes with it.
