Highly misleading article. I would bet the average speed during impact for the Corvettes in fatal accidents is far higher than the other cars it was compared against.

Also need to include age/experience of drivers involved in accidents AND if the above vehicles/drivers caused the accident or were the unlucky victim of some other idiot.

Used to think that also.
Other than wondering what your cruise or idle rpm is....if your car is quick enough theres no time to look at it, shift via ear/feel.

Never been able to look at mine under WOT whats the use.

this. there is a huge differnce when the average speed of impact for the econoboxes is 40 MPH and the Vette ins 80+

This just seems silly. The Corvette fleet miles and miles per car is going to be far lower than anything else. By the time they normalize this to a billion miles all it takes is a few people screwing up and getting themselves killed to distort these numbers.
