Default What's this tire sensor thingy worth?

A couple of years ago I bought a pair of used track tires and wheels already mounted. Yesterday I broke them down and one of them has the tire pressure sensor strapped to the inside of the wheel. Is it worth enough to sell to someone who might need it?

chris, new ones are about $150 (or more), as a reference point. might sell it for maybe $60-75.

I might be interested in it depending on if it works, what year it is off of (I need '93-96), and which tire it is for.

Just put new tires on the CE
the right front sensor was broken (cracked)
I though it might be OK for awhile.
it didn't last but a few weeks then came off flooping around inside the tire.

It cost $340 to have it replaced. I called the dealer and it was priced at over $300 just to buy it.

Before it broke, the low tire light was on, after it broke the 'LTPSW service soon' light came on, after it was replaced the low tire light still comes on.

Does it really make a difference what wheel position it's for? I'm asking, I don't know but wouldn't understand why.

chris, yes. each is color coded & part-numbered. this is necessary because a different code is set in the DIC attributable to each wheel for immediate identification of a sensor fault at that wheel.

I see now. It's amazing what you can find out if you read the label....

"Factory position-RR" (makes sense since it came off of a RR sawblade)

"GM P/N 10161857"

"Epic P/N 1000 5001"

It's even got a serial# for chrissakes.... I'm not going to post that. If it's stolen, I didn't do it!

Now, is there any way to tell if it's any good? No, my car doesn't have this option.

How hard is it to just remove the LTPWS bulb in the dash. I don't depend on this anyway. I always check the tire pressure myself anyway..... Anybody got some good directions. 95 c4

Default Bulbs are behind the panel. Unplug the LTPWS

The bulbs are behind the panel. If you take the fuse out you loose your cruise control to. The LTPWS Module is under the dash. I am going to try and just unplug mine from the harness. If it works I will find the hot lead and put a switch in.

I have a spare tire.
