Default C5 Glass Top Repair

I have multiple scratches on my 98 C5 Top and was wondering if the scatches can be repaired. The sight of the light scratches are starting to annoy me! Also, if anyon is interested in selling a pinted roof top that can fir a 98 C5 Coupe, I am all ears!

Can't help you with the clear top. But, for a used painted top you might watch/post in the C5 Parts for Sale/Wanted section of the Forum. You might also check with Gene's Kar Shop, a Forum supporting vender.

Good luck.

I would recommend having the top sanded and painted black. You cant get the scratches out. It's not really glass. Acrylic.

You can try to rub it out. If that don't work, yes it can be painted. If you want to keep the tint however, you could just re-clear coat it.
Good luck with it

I had my glass replaced from Melrose. It's called "seconds", but I have never been able to find the defect. It looks perfect:

I would hope that in 12 years the OP would have either repaired or replaced the top, but who knows.

My '99 came with a top that looked like it had been used as a work bench. Lots of scratchs but, no deep ones or cracks. Had several areas where a strong and wrong solvent had been used and I thought that would be the "game over" for sure. Google Micro-Mesh kits. Use as directed . Top came out almost like new. Downside? HOURS and HOURS of hand sanding with the different Micro-Mesh pads. Looks great a year later. If you are the snap a finger and push a button result type.....it ain't happenin'. Good luck!
