Re: Radio won't turn off automatically (Flylow)
Open your car door. It is designed to stay on until you leave the car. Think about the reason why this a great feature. :seeya

Your power windows will also work until the door is opened. The radio should stay on for about 15 minutes.

Re: Radio won't turn off automatically (c4cruiser)
It's called a "delayed access bus" or something like that, and it's really  . Only problem is when I shut the engine off and I'm putting the windows up and the passenger opens the door before they're up :mad .

What's the problem with the passenger opening the door before the windows are up? It shouldn't stop until the driver's door is open, right?

They aren't broken. I would be nice if it only turned off from the drivers side opening but it would mean adding a second circuit to do so. Right now, opening either the drivers side or passenger side turns on the interior lights and turns off the radio/windows. They use the same switch to accomplish this.

guessing that you already know that the radio stays on until the doors are open ............. if the radio continues to play after you open your door then you have a bad or stuck door switch. you can try wd-40 but be ware that some door switchs are adjustable and if you lube it the adjustment will slip. I know this by experience. once the adjustment slips you have the reverse problem, the car thinks the door is open all the time,( or really only when you turn or hit a bump)

I'm glad somebody figured out that I open my door to exit the car. I'll check out the switch. Thanks.

I read my owner's manual the other night and it specifically said "the driver's door". So that's how its supposed to work on a '91. (and how it does work on my car). Don't know about other years.

Where can I find the "door switch"?
Thank you.

The door switch you're looking for is on the front of the door opening between the hinges:
The switch on the rear edge of the door only operates the DOOR AJAR light.

Radio and latch release stopped issue
HELP!!! I have a ‘94 C4 that just developed 2 seemingly unrelated issues.
1) The driver side door rear latch release stopped working (the arm rest button still works).
2). When the car is shut off, keys removed and door is shut, the radio stays on.
I had to disconnect the battery to prevent drainage.
Any ideas where to start trouble shooting?

Yes they do. All seems ok, I tested the switch by pushing in/out. Interior light goes on/off. It’s got me stumped 🤔 .
