What color is pewter ?..in some pics. it has a golden sheen..and
then in others it looks more silver-y.
Is this from diffent year cars..or is it just how the color of the light
changes the look of the paint.
Anyone got pics to post and year of the car..?...ok..thanks..

Exactly..Pewter at Sunset is a Goldish Silver.
Look at that beautful color I said...a gold corvette..then
found out there weren't any.
Well actually there were C5 gold corvettes from the 90's but
GM couldn't get panels to match so the few that were made
were sold to employees.

Here's my 98, pewter. To me it looks more golden. When I asked the wife(she's a graphic design manager) she says "it's neither gold nor silver, it's pewter. Are you sure you aren't color blind?". Go figure!
I ask her all the time, before I go to tournaments, "Honey, does this shirt match? Yes, it matches. Not my pants woman, the car!"

Pewter is a substance that utensils, furniture pieces, vases, etc. have been made from for hundreds of years. It's an alloy of mostly tin, with some lead and iron, depending with what it was melted. It is definitely silver-grey in color, unless it reflects a golden colored building or sky....or, in sneakelman's case, if you're wearing a gold shirt.

Went through a pewter factory in Singapore when I was in the Navy in 1970.

Pewter is the color of the metal pewter... silver-gray. Pewter is a range of alloys of tin with various amounts of antimony, copper, and sometimes lead. If it has more copper then it might have a bit of a copper hue to it, but more commonly it is a metallic silver-gray.

I'm not sure if there's a difference from year to year, but the Black Book lists Light pewter metallic from 98-00 and just light pewter for 01-02? They all look the same to me!
