Well, the 2008 and later have a slightly revised system that is lighter effort than 05-07.
Our 2009 is noticably lighter than our 2006 with same tires and alignment settings, not sure I'd want it any lighter.
Somewhere around the end of 2010 MY, they actually changed things so that putting the AH in Comp mode makes the steering a littler heavier.

Like Gearhead Jim said, I'm not sure I'd want mine any lighter.
I've had '05, '06, and '09 C6's and haven't noticed any difference in the steering feel, but they've all been different models.
There's no way I know of to change the power assist/boost to the steering.
The only way that might make it a little lighter is to reduce caster, although if you're way out of alignment it might affect your steering feel. Is your tire wear normal?
Have you noticed an increase in steering effort after doing something to the car??? Like lowering it? If you reduce the rake you'll increase caster slightly, but I can't imagine that through the power steering you'd notice any real increase in steering effort. I lowered my '05 coupe and didn't detect any change in steering feel.
The caster doesn't have much of a range of adjustment, but more positive caster typically increases the steering feel and makes the steering more stable and track better, while less caster makes steering feel lighter and like the Service Manual says "steering may be touchy at high speed and wheel returnability may be diminished when coming out of a turn".
I'm not sure that with the limited range of caster adjustment available that you'd really get too much difference in feel through the power steering.
But, if you do have a good alignment shop adjust anything, make sure they check and adjust all parameters - changing caster will affect camber and toe as well.

I had the same question shortly after we got our 2007 Indy Pace Car. I found the steering effort the hardest of any car I've ever driven and found that a lengthy bout of spirited driving on a road with lots of twists and turns provided quite a workout. From all of my research I found that the Magansteer system has 3 possible settings in the BCM that can be accessed with a Tech2. The 3 setting are the standard factory and 1 step more and less assist.

I've had my 08 base vert for a little over a year that now has about 26K miles. What I started to notice a couple of months ago, is when I start driving the car for the first few miles at slow speeds locally, the power steering felt normal. Not always, but if I went over rough road, there was a change in the steering input, doing the same speed as before. It started to require more input, and felt much harder/heavier to turn, and became twitchy at the same time. The last couple of days, it's become even harder to steer even under normal driving conditions, and now steers heavy all of the time, slow or fast.
I checked the power steering fluid, and there are no leaks. The alignment hasn't changed, and the tires are wearing evenly. Could this have something to do with the magnasteer system? I made an appointment with the dealer, but it's become very annoying to drive.

No, it's not a huge deal, but it's slightly annoying and tricks a lot of people into giving advice to someone who hasn't logged in for over a year (in this case), or worse. Forum etiquette would be to use the search to find your answer and then start one's own thread asking the question if one can't find the answer he's looking for.

Had been reading the C7 thread about PS recall. Not sure how my post ended up in this C6 thread...

Wow.....a product to adjust steering feel. $250 cost.
This question about increasing/ decreasing power steering feel has been asked for years.
I wonder how it mechanically (oil flow?) functions and if it gives the desired results?
Any installation instructions specific to a C6?
