Default So many people talk about C7 looking like Ferrari. See new Viper?

We all know the C6 took design cues from the 2003 Viper.

I see A LOT of people talking about how the new c7 looks like the Ferrari F12 and 599... and we also hear a lot about it looking like the GTR.

It does look like the GTR from the front page of Car and Driver... however the side profile not as much.

I really think C&D hit the nail on the head in the side picture. The lines seem much more corvette like than the Jalopnik photo.. A little more wavy and softer if you will.

However, I edited this photo of the Viper to make it nearly the same size and color. Look at the striking similarities. I made this thread cause I really haven't heard that the C7 looks like the new Viper. I think it takes a lot of the new styling from the Viper (rear window, front clip, big grill opening, and the roof line). The last photo is a Ferrari F12 just to throw in

I like the new viper. But I like the old vipers better.

I don't see a viper resemblence whatsoever. To me, the C7 looks like the offspring of an F12 and GT-R.

The roofline could not be more different...not sure where you are seeing similarities...

Man it looks a lot like the f12. Wheels and all. Hope gm isn't paying their designers very much. Just copying.

It looks similar to the Ferrari F12. But Corvette has borrowed heavily from Ferrari since the Ferrari 250 GTO and 250 GTO/64. Ferrari-esque resemblance has been a mainstay of Corvette for years. It isn't a bad thing. Most cannot afford a $200,000 sports car. Corvette allows the 'common man' access to extreme performance and good styling,

Here is the C7 in some other colors... hopefully they offer JSB again, a green, a bright orange also. Last pic is similar to Atomic Orange....

Perhaps I'm the only one, but I see absolutely no resemblance to the GT-R...which is a good thing.

You just gotta admit Paul that this is a goofy rendering that is part guesswork, part accurate and the remainder a mishmash and it still looks pretty good.

That is good news!

I mean, really?!

At the end of the day, 21st century performance cars are 21st century performance cars. You're bound to find similarities between one another.

I agree as well. I don't think "Nissan" when I look at the Corvette [I think some are looking at the roofline profiles and A-pillar treatments and are going overboard with "GT-R" comparisons]. Nor do I see "Viper" in it. The Viper looks like an artificial heart appliance or some type of hideous industrial/organic organism/valve mechanism.

To me, the C7 is a Corvette with heavy Ferrari cues.

Also, the fender coves are similar. Both are in the shape of a "7".

[QUOTE=vant;1582461729]Also, the fender coves are similar. Both are in the shape of a "7".

I get the reference when looking at these one dimension photos. But, stand next them (assuming this is the actual C7), and I bet there is a world of difference. Most importantly, driving a vette and a GT-R are totally different experiences.

Make no mistake, I think most of us would prefer a more revolutionary approach than what we're seeing. I for one, am just hoping Chevy keeps the ZR1. Otherwise, I will try something else. However, it won't be a Viper.

Nissan GTR is too tall to look like a sports car at 54inches (almost a Toyota Camry at 56.9 inches) versus Corvette 49inches and Ferrari 50inches.

Try these and look again at the cars that you said looked alike.
