Default Removing the rear side marker lights?????

Does anyone know how to remove the rear side marker lights? Do you have to come from behind under wheel well or pry them right out? Thanks!!

The rears, you gave to take the outer brake lights out t15 bolts I think, then stick your hand in there to remove the rear side marker's nuts. Be careful because the thread on the side markers is plastic and can easily be stripped off. It's an easy job.

I just did mine, you have to remove your outside tail lights and go in through there. You will need an 8 mm socket or wrench. do it very slow and carefully as to not break the posts. It is an easy 10 minute job at max.

Your post is unclear as to whether you want to remove the light bulb or the entire assembly. Concur with the previous post on removal of the entire housing. If you just need to change the bulb, follow the same instruction on removing the outer tail lamp, then reach in and twist the bulb socket out of the side marker housing. With the tail lamp removed you should be able to see(if I recall correctly) the backside of the housing with a flashlight to see what your working with.

Perfect. You all gave me the answer! Taking out entire piece so I can give them a shot of gloss black paint to match my front and rear blackouts. I don't care if I can see them light up. Thanks all!

I was wondering why you all think it is so hard...I laid under the car and shined a light and they are right there...then I remembered, being I have no mufflers back there it is very easy to get to. Looks like going through the tail light would work....

John,
My power radio antenna on my 98 made it impossible to get to the marker lamp through my tail light, You had the right idea all along, Go up from under the car. There is a clear opening behind the wheel well all the way up to the marker lamps. I'm a big guy and was able to do it without jacking up the car. There is nothing to remove and the mufflers are out of the way.

Just wondering, but did you know you were replying to someone who posted 6 years ago?

Just went through this myself recently as one of mine burned out - they are accessed through the outer tail light holes....

Closing this one as it seems all the ways to get to the light bulbs have been explained.
