It is a proven scientific fact that cold air is denser than hot air, which means that an engine breathing cold air is going to make more power than the identical engine breathing hot air. The quest for cold air is what drives the AIRAID® Cold Air Dam Intakes. The CAD Intakes retain the stock filter location but give the stock intake system a big boost with the addition of a huge air inlet that provides a steady, free-flowing supply of cold air. This is done via Cold Air Dam panels, which mount in the factory air box location and utilize any factory cold air inlet ducts that are present, while adding additional cold air passages to the filter. These Corvette C6 systems can be installed in just minutes and are good for approximately 14-20 horsepower, depending on other modifications. They will enhance the performance of other power adders such as performance exhaust and performance throttle body and are available to fit 2005 through 2013 Corvette C6 models.
These BBK Corvette C6 Cold Air Intake Systems utilize high flow washable cotton element filters and are CAD designed for optimum airflow and Maximum Performance. All Corvette kits are vehicle specific and are designed as a direct bolt on using simple hand tools - For maximum performance for your Corvette BBK recommends adding a throttle body and exhaust system.
Halltech's Super Bee™ MF103 Ram Air Induction including Beehive™ requires NO TUNING and has better than stock idle manners due to the MAF forward design and integrated velocity stack built into the filter flange. Made from roto-molded cross link polyethylene it brings the same horsepower to your LS3 or LS7 as you have seen with the Super Bee™ FG102 or CF112 Carbon.
The Super Bee™ MF103 is 102.5mm at the MAF read and at the exit, meaning it is larger than the massive Williams Performance 102 Throttle Body, but comes with the connector hose for the stock throttle body, however, it can be ordered with the larger connector hose for the WP102 TB.
Halltech's roto-molded version of the Super Bee™ FG102 features the same filter and Beehive™ as the Carbon and Fiberglass version as well as the Killer Bee™ II. Since early 2010, the Super Bee™ has been the dominant Halltech induction system, with staggering horsepower and torque numbers that have literally shattered all records.
The MAF sensor and PCV plastic nipple are not included, since they are swapped from the stock intake system. You will need an 8mm and 7mm nut-driver to install this intake system. You may need to include the Security TORX bit shown as an accessory in the side bar to remove your stock MAF screws. 2011 LS3s may have the 5 point Security Plus screws from GM. Full Ram Air requires some cutting of the radiator shroud, which can be done without removing the shroud.
