I know the opinions are split on the Z06 front fender spats, just curious if anyone has added them to their cars and if they have pictures??
Please post if you have added them.

I'll be perfectly honest with you. I have a Z06 that I love, and the car looks like sex. But the front fender spats are the ONLY styling element I look at on the car and think, "WTF"!
I personally can't imagine anybody wanting to add that to the sexy, clean lines of the Stingray.
That said, from a practical standpoint, if somebody was wanting to add wider tire, front and rear to track, and were thinking of doing it, perhaps that might make sense - but then you get into potential fender rubbing issues with the wider meats. So that just brings me back to "WTF". . . LOL.
But that's just me. It's your car, do what you want.

I got a set off a guy in my town who upgraded to carbon fiber. I did the modification, prepped and painted them but still haven't put them on. I'm not sure I really like the way they look, lol. It's not a difficult mod if you have a dremel:
That's my test fit. It's funny some people's reaction to the spats. It's not like you're putting a Chevy bow tie on your ride. Oh well, whatever.

Question:
I'm still unclear as to how thee spats allow wider rubber up front. I can see how they act as splatter guards, but my problem is contact between the fender and the tire when cornering. Wouldn't the spats rub as well?

^^^^ It's not the spats that allow wider rubber, it's the flared fenders (and hence wheel wells).

Funny, the fender spats are the ONLYthing that I don't like about my Z. I wish that they would have extended the fenders... or integrated them better...

Come to think of it, I believe you're correct. If so, then the spats provide accommodation for wider tires by effectively extending the width of the front wheel well openings, thereby ensuring that the tops of the tires don't protrude from the tops of the wheel wells.

My spats look just fine... I think they give the Z51 a more aggressive appearance and they'll work very well with my new custom 3 piece wheels that will be installed next week.

Hi I like the look of the spats on your car wondering if you have a write up or advice on how to install these on the stingray? I am looking to do it to all 4 wheels
